On the road to finally fixing a bad repair job. Thanks to all those that helped with the chassis measurements this summer. Well I purchased a curved monte carlo bar and now it seems I pulled it far enough, but the bolt holes do not even come close to match. Well its a 64 1/2 so I am kind of used to this, but I did notice that the top portion of the bracket was square. This is the question. The top of the bracket should be alligned with the top of the tube right? meaning the top of the bracket is straight not at a 90 degree angle with the portion of the bracket facing down.

Thanks Again.

Mine curved bar has a bracket that is flush with the top of the sheet metal in gront of the shock tower and then it extends down to line up with two fender bolts going down the inside of the engine compartment. They are not 90 degrees because there is a slight slope. This portioin is a triangle. I think thats what you are asking??

I couldnt get mine between my compartment walls so I built one instead. It looks like it is lopsided in the picture but it is perfectly fit in the compartment, plus it hooks on at the top of the shock towers. It just clears the distributor and wires, here is a pic if it works, its at the bottom
