I just bought some lower control arms form VAMUSTANG. They advertise them in their catalog as moog parts and when you ask them there are adamant they are moog. But because they are not marked as moog in anyway I decided to call federal mogal and ask if there is anyway to identify them as genuine moog parts. The guy I talked to said they make 65/66 and 68/70 but not 67. When I called VAMUSTANG back they say they have been getting them from the same place for many years and they are moog. What do you guys think? One of these guys is full of crap is it federal mogul or VAMUSTANG? :damnit: :bang:

Some of the aftermarket arms have holes drilled to accommodate 67 or 68 style strut rods. The strut rod holes are the only difference between the 67 and 68 lower arm. Ask them how many strut rod mounting holes are in the arm. If there are only two then you may be SOL if there are four they will probably work for you.

Moog doesn't offer the 67 version!

This seemed like as agood a place to ask my question as any:

Being that MOOG and TRW are both owned by Federal Mogul is there any difference between their parts?

I ask because Summit, which is right here, carries MOOG parts but they are out of stock. LMM lists TRW parts but I would have to order them. 6 or one half dozen of the other, any input?

Thanks.

If I ain't mistaken the 67's used parts from the 65-66's on some of the front suspension stuff. Might be why they don't list 67 parts. I know the steering gear on the early 67's were carryovers from the 65-66's. Wouldn't surprise me if the lower arms also fit the earlier Stangs. As for if they're "geniune" Moog parts, did they come in Moog boxes or packaging ? If not, then I doubt they're Moog's parts.

I have never had a reason to question Va Mustang and I have ordered a ridiculous amount of stuff. It's definitely not in their best interests to BS you because you can always return it.
