Thinking of getting a KB. All of us mostly know that 400RWHP+ is some what the limit for a two valve car. Would it be safer to reach 400RWHP by using a 6# kit with a set of blower cams or CNC heads. This method keeping boost out of the motor. Or is the 9# kit the way to go. Any help or opinions would be appreciated, thanks.

i think the 9# kit has a i/c....

if so the 9# is more safe with the i/c then without

but yes building the car stronger on MOTOR and MUSCLE and less on BOOST is the safer way to go

just get a worked short block and BOOST the sucker :D

Yeah Mustang Magic going to do the install. I want to make the number but do want to destroy the bottom end either. It would suck to pay for a car monthly when it doesn't run :D . So what do you think 6#s and cams or 6#s and CNC heads. If I go with the heads I'll probably have no emissions issues :nice:. I have under 12,000 miles on the car, it would be a waste to build that bottom end now.

With P&P heads and blower cams, I would think a good tuner might be able to break 400RWHP even with only a 6psi pulley. I'm not sure about that figure, but even with a little boost, a P&P and cams designed almost specifically for your application should count for some pretty nice numbers.

I'd rather spend that heads and cam money towards a built bottom end. Forged engine + KB =

eventually, something is going to break with 400rwhp. start saving for a forged shortblock. but back to the main subject, P&P heads are about $1200 and cams are about $550. that's a heafty price on top of the blower. i'd just go with the 9lb kit and start saving for the shortblock.
