I'd like to put either 4:10's or 4:30's in my gt. I have some questions though,

1. my car has 86,xxx miles on it should i get the rebuild kit or anything like that for my 8.8?

2. is there like a parts list on what i need?

3. will i need a chip or like a sct tuner cause of the year of my stang?

4. I'm a decent car nut but i'm a body man not really a mechanic but I be willing to do it myself if i had good instrustions. Is the Haynes book good enough to go off of to do the swap?

With the miles you have on you car you should get a complete re build kit for the axle. Seals, bearings(carrier and axle shaft), crush sleve, ect.

I think you can get a speedo gear for your tranny to correct the speedo in the car.

As for the install, leave it to a Pro.

i suspect mine to be over 400 in labor if they're going to put in the rebuild kit. Also, there's not many places where I live in Pa that will do this changeover. so the bill will keep going up i guess.

While your in there, you might as well upgraed your carrier and axle shafts to
31 Splines. :nice: Nows the time to do it.
