Well, after 2 days of workin on it.. i have something i can atleast take pictures of.... in my honest opinion it looks alot better, and definitely better than all of that rust on there.... whatcha guys think... ? It was my first attemp at body work of any sort.... First I sanded it all down with 100, then wet sanded it with 100, then sprayed some primer that was more like water on it for one night.. .went back out today and sanded all that off, some more hits with 100, wet sanded with 100, then sprayed primer on it, this primer was good.. it better have been for 4.50 a can.... then i took a wet rag over it to make it cute for pics and so i got to see if i missed anything, glad i did.. there were some spots I had sanded but didnt hit... I got some sandpaper from auto from like 200-400 i will sand it down smooth the next nice day out.. and then leave it alone til i go to get it painted...

It went from http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/showmedia.php?id=138808&original=1 to http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/showmedia.php?id=139684&original=1

http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/showmedia.php?id=138807&original=1 to http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/showmedia.php?id=139683&original=1

Whatcha think... ?

Are the side decals still there and just badly faded? Mine was in similar shape when I found it and removing the decals and glue residue was the worst part of the prep.

The decals are extemely hard to remove and the 78's had a lot of them. I ended up using a small propane torch to burn them off.

I used a heat gun and a plastic scraper but you have to be careful because you can soften the paint and take it straight to bare metal.
