I am getting a 91 Gt tomorrow or Monday at the latest, it's bone stock other than a harwood hood and saleen wing, I plan to use it as my daily driver so all I want to do is get a pretty good power increase out of it but still be easy on the gas, I do want to be able to hear the cam but not something radical, I was thinking of something like an e303 but I don't know what else I should add to the engine to make it run proper, (First Ford Build) and (First Foxbody).
I don't plan on racing the car or anything like that but I still want it to have some good usable power.
If I did get the e cam what all would I need to add to the engine to bring out the cam, I want it to run right so what ever else the engine needs I will get, does the e cam sound good at idle and good for my build? Any one know where I could get a clip to here an e cam? Thanks for your help

I know the cam alone is a waste of money! Thats why my post asks what other parts I will need to make the cam do its job. Again' I most likely will be getting some aftermarket heads, not aluminum or anthing, just something not too expensive but better than stock to help out, along with the intake, mass air, throttle body, injectors, etc. I just need to know what parts I will need, like what throttle body size, mass air size and calibrated for what size injectors, a bigger fuel pump? I don't know what all I need as I have never built a fuel injected ford.

You say you've never built a Ford before; have you even driven a V8? Since this is your daily driver, I recommend driving it around stock for awhile, get to know it's potential, how it handles, how it performs. I'm not trying to insult here, just don't know your experience level. Once you get a good knowledge base on the mustang, then look into modifying it. How do you know what you want to change unless you experience it first hand? You might discover that you may want to upgrade the brakes first, let's say, and that the power is sufficient (for now anyway). You can read through countless threads on here regarding engine mods and such. When you're ready, set yourself a goal and budget and work from there. Money tight? Hey go the cheap route with some quality junkyard parts. Money no object? The aftermarket is flooded with all kinds of goodies. First and foremost, enjoy the ride, I know you'll be hooked.

i would look at getting a top end kit from trickflow or holley or edelbrock they are well balanced components for each other and they are very streetable, i believe some kits are good for 50 states, so the cams shouldn't be too aggresive.

(yes) I have driven many V8's and the last one was in a 86 Silverado, and yes I did built it and picked all the parts from oil pan up to air filter, didn't ever have it dyno'd but on a dyno 2000 and one other desktop dyno it was making over 440 horsepower, so I highly doubt a 200 something horsepower stock mustang is going to have the power I want, the 86 was very good on the street also, it was my daily driver for about 8 months until I sold it, I just havn't ever messed with a ford engine so I am looking for help on picking the right parts that will make good power together.

what good is all that extra power if you cant get it to the pavement?
get suspension gears and drag radials first..

YOU CANT BUILD A HOUSE WITHOUT A SOLID FOUNDATION

with thoes as a combo you will slingshot out of the hole and take many cars.....besides, you will be suprised how 200 and some horse is in thoes cars..

this is good advice. Gears is also a needed mod. Subframe connectors are a must. If you put more power in it you want to keep it straight.
