Hey all, as some of you may remember I've been having problems with my tranny grinding into 3rd gear at WOT. That problem has steadily been getting worse, but now its doing something else that seems odd. When I'm on the highway in 5th gear cruising at 70mph or anywhere around there, I hear a faint grinding type sound coming from the shifter area. It stays pretty constant unless you let off the gas. What could be causing this?

Thanks!

I haven't had the TSB done on my tranny. What does this service kit include?

I dont know exactly, but I think its a shift fork and synchro kit.

whats a good coolant/tranny fluid? i need to get mine replaced. i heard you have to take it to a shop cuz theres a special machine that flushes the whole system then refills it. i need my tranny stuff changed and my rear end stuff changed...suggestions?

Most dealers can perform the transmission flush youre talking about, it runs detergents and clean oil through the whole system to make sure its all clean. It can be expensive though.. If you cant do that, a good routine fluid change is better than nothing.

Rear end fluid you can do yourself if you're fairly experienced. Just remove the dif. cover, clean, reassemble and fill. Heres a writeup:
