Hey all,

My new 2005 GT will be here by next week!!!!!
After a lot of hard negotiations back in October, I managed to get a REALLY good price for the car I wanted.

Now the dealership wants me to sign up for the X-plan to get my car.
(I am qualified for the plan)

Anyhow... I want to know if the price I've negotiated is more or less than the X-plan price. The dealership IS going to honor the original agreed price, but I'm wondering if they are attempting to squeeze more profit out of the sale.

I have not been able to find the X-plan price online anywhere!!!

Heres what I've ordered:
GT deluxe with interior upgrade package, bright cast wheels, and the shaker 500 stereo.

Any help????

Well it is simple compare your price to the xplan price and whichever is better take it. If you are xplan eligible, then you are entitled to see the invoice which will have a box that says x plan.

I'd like to see the X-plan price before walking into the dealership.
(Frankly do not trust them)

The Ford dealer has to show you the invoice with the plan prices on it. If they dared to charge anything else, they would get in VERY big trouble with Ford. The plan prices are fixed and non-negotiable by either party (you or the dealer).

If you can actually buy under the X-plan (ie, have a valid PIN and such), you should be able to go to the Ford Direct website, and look up X-plan prices.

I attempted to use the Ford direct website to build and price my Stang for the X-plan. But with no dealer inventory it will not give me the price. I did find that the invoice for my car was a bit higher than found on Cars.com.

I even attempted the Ford graduate program build... no X-plan price.

If anyone can get me the numbers that would be great... if not I'll go with what the dealer invoice has to say.

Try other zip codes... possibly NYC's 10001. The prices are all the same regardless of zip code, but with other zip codes you can "search" other dealer's inventory (just for prices).

My X-Plan Price

I just ordered a Mustang GT Premium with the red interior upgrade package, bright cast wheels, and Shaker 1000 stereo system.

The MSRP vehicle is $29,309.16 (out the door - after CA sales tax), the dealer is asking and getting $2,995 over MSRP for the GT's they have on the lot,, and the X-Plan price that I am getting is $26,858.35.

I believe that the savings definitely warrants the 8-12 week wait that I am facing.

I checked out that page and don't see where it states that X-plan is invoice + $150.

I thought X-plan was A-plan plus 4% plus $150, or something like that. It is true it comes out roughly close to just over invoice, but not exactly.

The reasonthey want you to claim the x-plan is that they get a small commission from Ford. If the x-plan is lower take it, if the number thet give you is higher than the original deal stick with the old price. Either way, if you like the dealer get a pin number and let them get their few hundred bucks from Ford.
