who would win between a 91 or 92 mr2 non-turbo and my 2003 v6? this guy at my school wants me to go to the track with him and race him but i don't want to drive all the way to the track (which is like 2 hours away) to lose. if i'm going then i want to whip his ass. he says its naturally aspirated so i guess i believe him but anything could be under that hood. but if it was just stock non turbo then who would win?

I don't know about the old ones, but a new mr2 has 138hp, and 125tq. Now your figures are much higher than this, but the new mr2 weighs only 2200lbs. I would speculate that you would be faster (hoping that you have a manual), but I don't know for sure.

Just ask him to pop the hood if you're concerned about what he's packing.

I believe you can beat him, because the non-turbo motor that is in the MR-2 is the same motor in the GT celica of that day. My best friend has a 91 Celica GT, with that exact motor, he's never beat me and hes got a 5-speed, and i got the auto and i still romp on him by at least 3-4 each time.

That MR2, it's a MKII, uses a 5SFE motor, it was used in the Corolla. Stock, they run between a 15.6-16.0. If it's a mtx, but almost all were. If it's a non turbo you have a chance. What do you have done? If it is a turbo, you're about to get your ass handed to you on a silver platter. The 3sgte is fast. They drop into the 13's real easy, but stock stay around a 14.9. If it has foglights you have no chance, if there are no fog lights and you're stock it's really a drivers race.

EDIT_Not all turbo MR2's had foglights, 99% do though. They "Turbo" badge on the back.

you can win, no problem. stock to stock. my friend had a stock 5 speed 92 mr2. so if you got a 5 speed, and youre sure he doesnt have a motor swap and that he's stock too, then go for it. but the only thing id be worried about is that long 2 hour drive just to go to the track. haha good luck!

he's stock. i looked at his motor and he looked at mine the other day. no turbo, manual tranny. i think i can take him so we're going in July. the 2 hour ride isn't so bad if my girlfriend is with me and i can find a nice tractor trailer doing 80 to stick by.
