You will have to work on the "Man". We would all love to see the Mystic there and running. I really don't think that it will. Maybe if enough people bug him.

I already bothered him about not that long ago. Tell him I am calling him out. Tell 'The Man' I claimed the 99 must be a better track car, b/c it actually goes to the track

In a lot of ways thats true. That is one of the issues of building such a radical car. How many track days do you have on your car now?

I'm not totally sure, in that car 2-4 events a year since spring of 01. I would do many more if I could get the time off from my hard*ss boss . No really too much to do to take more time off than I already do.

Clarke
99 Cobra
All the nice soft stuff it came with that made the wife think it was a better car than the old mustang... I replaced with my friend NVH.

I'll go if I can get a ride in that sweet #ss Hornet car! I'll even bring an extra bungee cord or two.

D*mn! I would be thrilled to let Mr. Said drive the car if he wanted. I don't know, I may just have to bring the Hornet. Maybe that Festiva will show again and I can give it a run for its money. Then again there will be more than one Focus there I'm sure. FEAR THE HORNET!!!!

Fear profits man nothing.

The Hornet car won't make three laps before running out of gas. (One lap if Boris is driiving)

Anything with a boat gas tank mounted inside a mailbox deserves to stay put in Mon Roe.

Drive??? Oh, no! Just going for a ride is all I need. Oh wait, that requires a passenger seat right? I think I have an extra 5 gal bucket and some duct tape kicking around.

I would at the least get a lawn chair for you. Your bungee cords will help.
Hey you've get two cars that we can pull a seat out of.
I wish my LX would just be done. To much brand new parts just sitting there.
I don't think MAC is going to get my headers back in time. D*mn TF High Ports and long tubes!!!

Have TIG, will make fit....

Did you send them back already?

I know your LX isn't quite as prestigious as your Hornet but at least you'd be running with the group. Cause you know, it's just no fun blowing by everyone.

Yep I sent them back. I thought about asking you but figured you had enough on your plate as it is. They say if they can fix them its a day turn around time. I would much rather have my LX there and running than the most prestigious Hornet race car.

If I'm lucky it could be done by them, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well my panhard bar is finished. My brakes are bled and done. My wheels and new Kuhmo MX's are on. Maybe I might get my headers back in time.

If not, I bet I can find you a set of stock manifolds to through on there. Weld on some pipe and you're good to go. Get out there!!

Got any good sources for helmets, Dane? I really don't want to spend $600 for one at Speedwallet. I thought I remember you saying OMP made them or something...anything to clear me so I go out and race.

In case Dane does not answer:

Well as I remember BradsCustomAuto is a dealer for Racing Safety Equipment:

http://www.bradscustomauto.com/PartsO/safetyRacingEquip.html

I would suggest something with a chin guard but other than that there should be quite a few options from Bell, Stand 21, Simpson... that are around $300.00. I think my Bell helmet with chin guard was around $ 280.00 a couple of years ago.

Edit: I looked it up, I have a Bell SRPRO. Brads lists them for just under $300.00

GA SP2 SA2000 helmet
Click on the link for a great deal on a helmet. Other than that I can work you a deal on a OMP but it will be more money than the GA.

Looks like you are right on schedule. Two weeks to go and still thrashin. Of course it would feel a bit strange to actually be ready for any event involving track time.

Hopefully the Mercury will be present

Let's just hope Mac did it right this time. If not, we might have to get custom on those MO-FO's.
