I am thinking about getting the Magnaflow Magnapack catback in a few months. With that catback, I want to be able to swap different mufflers (and straight pipes) in and out with ease. I was thinking I could order some plates (the loose plates that accept 2 bolts, connecting the ball/socket joints) from some company (or go to a junk yard and cut them off of some stangs) and then weld them onto the mufflers' inlet and outlet (in the straight pipe's situation, just have a pipe with a plate on each end). Here are some drawings I did below...maybe this will make more sense. Anywho...this is my question: Will this work and actually be worth my time? I have an impact wrench so I don't have to spend a lot of time unbolting and rebolting 8 bolts.
Another thing is...could I do the same with some cats? I want to be able to put in and take out cats on my Bassani X pipe.

it would work but not sure why you want to do it
