its all about the install baybee.. i ripped a nice burnout saturday right after they were in just for the heck of it. i know the guy who put them in did it right cause he's done 100's and he told em there is no such thing as "break in". 420 installed all parts and rp gear oil. not bad i think. the car feels like you said, soo much lighter and wants to really go now. ill still put this out there that 4.10's are a bad choice for ppl like me and maybe u who drive everyday and dont race on slicks! 3.73 is wayy enough gear to be driving with.

That was what 35,000-40,000 miles ago? No whine and no problems...all I did was let it wear the paint off the gears on the 10 mile run and let it cool. After that your ready to go.

Everyone tells you not to go WOT...V6 guys do the same thing but WOT is like our 1/2 throttle. Then imagine a 600RWHP GT...their getting to traffic speed is more strain on the gears than us doing WOT blasts.

So GET OUT THERE AND HAMMER IT! Just be prepared...1st gear winds out FAST!

yea i say hammer it to the floor as well. heck i couldnt resist either the second after i picked my car up from the dealer lol leaving the lot i nailed it. And that was about 6k ago and its fine no whine or anything.

you also will notice a pretty dramatic drop in fuel economy as well. I sure as heck did. The weekend after the install i averaged 13mpg lol i couldnt keep my foot out of it. Other than that normal driving(may not happen for a while) you will drop a few on the highway i dropped about 2 highway and i am the same around town. i get 24 highway now i use to get about 28 driving it slower that 24 is doing about 75-80 on the highway.

And 1/4 mile times im not sure what i would drop. I havent gotten to the quarter yet. But 1/8th mile i dropped down about .3 because i learned to launch better and went from 9.2 to 9.8s and gained about 2mph. Im sure if i could have driven better though to begin with it would only be a .2 gain

Got the gears done at Houston Performance for $420 which included gears and all fluids. I just supplied the Speedcal. There is no whine or anything and they did it pretty quick. If you come out here to MPH, lemme know and we can go grab lunch or somethin

Not a bad price at all since it included everything. How would you rate your experience with HP? I've heard great things and then I hear horrible stories--- I guess thats how it is with every shop though

Mike painting your hood for you? I've yet to hear bad things about his work, and I believe his prices are pretty damn fair as well

I hit WOT right out the dealership after I got them installed. Never "broke" mine in... No issues after 30k miles.

I hope your kidding about the motor part.....Because the DO need a break in to give the rings and valves time to seat properly. We know from experiance with other people not breaking their motors in...20-30K and they are smoking like a freight train. The effects most likely wont be immediate but the motor just will not last as long...and one romp everyonce in a while wont do anything really. Just cant sustain high RPMs until after a good 500miles.

My bike says the following <500 miles = <5500RPMs. <1000 miles= <8000RPMs. After that its good. (350 now BTW)

did you buy FRPP gears? if so they are heat treated and you don't need to worry. W/ motive and Richmond you need to break em in for like 20 mile periods to warm them and then let them sit for 1/2 hour. I had my FRPP 3.73's installed and i hammered on it after about 5 miles, lit up the tires when it shifted from 2nd to 1st

**** yea i've been killin it. I LOVE IT. Alot quicker and the car feels like it wants to fly. Even the BFG's can't completely hook in first.

i see we come from different camps on this. it doesnt take 1000miles for rings and valves to seat. i see it the other way around. motors that are babied consume oil.
