MUSTANG II TAILLIGHTS

Does anyone know how to get the 3 red tailights instead of 2 and one yellow one ? I see numerous photos of the 3 red....I have 2 sets of taillights and I thought I would just change the middle lens....took apart ...it doesnt look like an easy process....any help would be appreciated. While I am on this topic I have seen some taillights with multiple chrome bars over the taillight similar to a 1967 1968 Cougar taillight.....looked for an aftermarket taillight to accommodate both of my desires with no resolve.....trade secrets of the owners maybe...haha

You need a second set of taillights to cut up. I did it on my car, there's some pics in my build thread.

not hard to do, I used a band saw to cut up the donor set and a belt sander to true up the lens.

What do you do for back up lights? Do you just see red in the dark? First gen reverse lights are an easy fit on cars with a roll pan, but not here.
I personally just do without for now, with a 2015 GT reverse light planned for the tucked rear bumper when I do that. @StadEMS3 has LED strips for his if you look at his pictures.

Matt, on your main thread, you mentioned the lenses were not as shiny as you wanted. If that’s still the case, Kitt Scratch Out is great on lenses, face shields and gauges as a final polish. For deeper scratches and polishing most everything, Flitz is awesome. It’s like Frank’s Redhot sauce. I put that “stuff” on everything.

I ended up hitting them with Meguiar's #105 and following it up with their Plast-X. Those two pack a 1-2 punch on plastic lenses that can't be beat since the reformulated the Plast-X to be far more effective.
