Need help. I'm building a glass bodied 34 Ford with a Mustang ll front suspension. The build specs call for 15" wheels; however, I have a beautiful set of Boyd Coddington wheels (18' front, 20" rears) that I would like to use. The problem is that there's not enough clearance at the front fender for the tire to clear. It looks like the front would need to be raised roughly one and one-half inches to clear the fender and provide sufficient clearance for suspension travel. Both front tires clear the frame on full turn each direction.
What is the best way to get the needed clearance: heavier springs, different spindles, coil-overs? All serious recommendations are appreciated.
