In the August and September issue of 5.0 Magazine, Mustangs Unlimited has a cowl vent grille, part #F2680R, listed for $17.95. Today I called to order it and the order person who was polite asked me what page is that on. I told him and he said to please hold. A little while later he came back and said yes it's an error with our marketing dept., the price is $59.95. I asked him if they would honor the price in the magazine and he said no. I know legally they don't have too, but ethically they should have. Just venting thanks for reading.

Ethically they shouldn't have to either. Missprints, are misprints...It happens.....and considering it was 5.0L Magazines error and not theirs, I would say you're getting worked up over nothing.

I would have thought $18 for one of those would have been a misprint, or one hell of a cheaply made bargain! As those usually go for around $60

Anyway I would think 5.0 Magazine possibly made the misprint not Mustangs Unlimited.

Yea no reason they have to lose money over a miss print. It would be admirable if they gave it to you for the miss print price but no reason for them to except a good gesture.

They aren't walmart...
Fwiw, odds are the ad was made by them, not the magazine.

I can see where everyone is coming from, but over two months the same advertisement. You would think someone from Mustangs Unlimited would have seen the error. So I thought that was the price. How am I wrong in this? Fine don't sell it to me, but I'm not the bad guy in this. Everyone is making me to be the a$$ in this. I did'ent make the miss print.

Yeah they should fix it especially now that they are aware of it but not much you can do about it, maybe email the company talk to some of the higher ups maybe they would be more interested in helping you out than some random guy on the phone. If they didnt want to at least hear you out dont use them, but in the financial situation that many companies are in its hard to expect someone to lose money on a product because of the mistake of a mustang magazine.

I don't think people are making you out to be the a$$,..relax miss prints happen and there is a disclaimer no doubt from the magazine to protect the company paying for the advertisement + the small print in the adds ( see american muscle ad, LRS ad and thier ad to name a few) . you found an error and you tried to see if they would give you a deal, they didn't, the disclaimer protected them.

I'm looking at my July 2011 issue and they have it listed for $59.95 and in the item right next to the cowl vent are the 2011 5.0. emblems listed for $17.95 in the september 2011 issue they reversed the prices on the 2 items and listed the cowl grille for the $17.95 and the 2011 5.0. emblems for the $59.95. It also states in the fine print that prices are subject to change, so they are covered.. the price changed from $17.95 back to $59.95 .

Thanks for the heads up lostcause! You are right legally they didn't have to honor the advertised price but Ethically and as good customer service they should have given it to you for the $17.95. They would have lost around $40.00 or so but would keep you as a customer which you would probably spend more than that anyways. I'm sure someone from Mustangs Unlimited had to approve the AD before it went to print. If that someone was from the marketing firm they use then they could get the money back from them. Yes mistakes happen but we all have to take responsibility for our mistakes.

that place sucks.

they said they price match and when i brought them in a print out of a 255 walbro fuel pump for $80 they told me they couldnt do it.

so what you meant to say was you price match, but only when you feel like it.

place is a joke
