I finally took my car to the track. It was the 1/8 mile.

keep in mind that the car is still on 2.73 gear
....and intermittently misfiring..
I ran a 9.47.
some say "Ooh, not bad at all" and some cringe "ooooh....what was wrong?"
personally I'm happy with the results so far. the car is still a little inconsistent due to a rich condition, bad intake gasket, and old ignition system. Working to fix these problems as time progresses. I have a whole list of parts I'm looking for. I'm not going to bore everyone with listing it here. If you want to know, I can list it later...anyway. have fun folks. keep driving!

my vert auto ran a 9.69 with like a 2.1x 60' with a cobra intake, 65mm and headers back before i put the springs, lca's and some 16in. rims with crap tires. now i do good to get a 10.1. It still has the 2.73's in the pumpkin.

I went to the same track again, worked on my launch, and went at night to ensure as little loading up as possible, and ran a 9.38. I still think the car can do better with current mods if I can get it to run perfectly every time.

Mods are (as far as I know):
holley 600 carb
flowmaster 40 series
b303 cam
rebuilt t-5
mickey thompson 235/60/15's past the wear bars.
other stuff that has nothing to do with power:

electric fan
new water pump
new brakes
rear main seal
new stock clutch (I know...)

There may be more done...but I'm not sure because I've never had it apart. To be honest, this is just the general consensus from everyone about what they THINK is done...especially the cam. I rebuilt the t-5 myself...so I know that's true.....ok....i'm talking too much. i'm tired. goodnight

a little more practice you should be down to 9.2-9.0. My 86 used to run 9.0 all day long with an AOD and the 2.73. I still got the AOD but I went with 4.10s and ported E7 heads, Shift kit with and epoxy mod, and some radials and I got her down to 8.42. Little by little you'll get it there
