I ordered my LCAs last night! MM extreme duty with NO spring perch. Coilovers it is baby. I need to come up with the money for my coilovers, if my beer budget wasn't so high it would be easier. Oh well, nothing to be done about that though.
Being lazy, need to get out to the garage and work on the engine bay some more.
The weather is going to cool off here for a few days so I won't be able to primer the bay until probably Sunday, gotta be 65 in order for the primer to harden.
That's ok, it allows me time to relax and finish glazing.
If I can finish the mud work by tomorrow morning, I'm going to take the rear wheels off and start grinding out all of that undercoating in the tubs this weekend. I need to start getting all the stuff bought and together for the mini-tubbing now.

First things first....
I didn't want to have a beer at the end of the day at work, but my manager forced me too, I hate him so much.
I'm not going through an IPA phase right now, but this is probably the best tasting IPA I've had (and I may have had one or two different types in the past).

Back to the story...I have finished the left side of the engine bay! It was the most difficult thanks to me screwing up in various ways. It's much smoother than looks.
I glazed the right side and will sand it tomorrow morning
After I'm done with the glaze, I will prep the surrounding area with 320 grit for primering then wait for weather that's warm enough to catalyze the primer. Next Monday is supposed to be back into the 70's.
BTW, taking the sway bar out finally is a godsend for working in the engine bay, I'm such a retard.

Actually, that is really trick.
Too late for Doby though. Way too much bodywork has been done to the outside to put the new panels on. It is so straight right now that I would cry cutting into it.
The 315's I put on the car will be ok.
Now for the next car though.....maybe @stykthyn or @Boosted92LX ought to look this over with their new cars (assuming they go ahead with what they KNOW they should do and buy the cars they're looking at).
The panels make me want to start another car after this one. First things first though.

For those that want to see the blocks and sandpaper I've used for the smoothing, here you go. 80 grit and 180 grit sandpaper, btw.
Here's my high tech work bench for mixing the bondo as well
Impressive work station, huh?
Of course I had a cut off wheel, grinder, and a welder to get the new panels all attached.
BTW, see that box next to the paper towels? It holds my new stainless steel brake lines, Yay me!

You got nothing on me. For the latest, most utilitarian in work surfaces, I almost always use the Trashy MacPherson model 17.

With two large wheels in back, moving the TM#17 is a breeze. The unit also features a built in handle that also serves as a attachment point for hanging painted junk. Probably the most convenient feature of The Trashy Mac is the flip top work surface that opens up to provide a perfect receptacle for end of day scrap, and refuse.

But wait! there's more!

When you fill up Ol Trashy, all you have to do is wheel him to the curb of your driveway, and some men will come and EMPTY IT FOR YOU!!

How cool is that?

I highly suggest you look into getting one for yourself.

Nah, see, those panels there, see, they wouldn't look right on your vehicle, you know what I mean? So, really, I couldn't do that to your car.

I get up at 3:30, work on my car for two hours every morning, then go to work.
Then I sleep in till 5:00 on the weekends and work on the car till my wife starts squealing at me.....that's pretty much how it goes until Doby is done.
I really, really need it to be a driver sometime this summer. At the same time, I want it to have some really cool features.
My wife is tolerating this somewhat because I'm going to redo the kitchen once Doby has her license plates.

So I got most of the right side sanded down, I have a little left that I'll get tomorrow morning when it's too early to start grinding out the undercoating in the tubs. Plus a couple little anal issues on the panel that will be all gone tomorrow morning.
I'll be kind of glad to be done with ALL of the bodywork on Doby finally.

I love them but if I haven't had any in a while they can do some nasty things.
