Holes are welded up, wife is awake, time to trim the top of the new panel.
God......Everytime I look back at stuff I already had to do,......I'm so glad it's done.

Got the weld through primer sprayed on, got to let it dry for a few minutes, so...
It's early for that, but at least you ain't drinking Bud Light.

So you got that going for ya.

It's another one of my pet peeves,.......Craft breweries, more beer to choose from than people got minutes in the day sitting on the grocery store shelves, and Ol dude walks in and buys a 12er of Bud light.
"Hey dude,...there is 100 different beers on tap here, and you're drinkin' a sorry assed Bud Light? How do you even know what you DONT like if you won't at least try it?
** In redneckese....Ahh Know Whut Ahh like, an it ain't wunna of them craft beers.

I did a thing w/ one of my customers back in the late 80's when multi-tap breweries started to show up labeled as "sports bars".
I was drinking Canadian beers back then Molsen, Moosehead, Labatts, and this guy drank exclusively Bud light.
Once when I was taking him out, and he ordered a BL in one of those bars I asked him how he knew that he preferred BL over anything else if that's all he'd ever drink. I went on to challenge him to tell me the difference between the 4 Anheiser Busch "light beers that were out at the time to see if he could name his outta the four. ( Bud light/Michelob light/Bud dry/Mich dry).
I spun the customer so that his back was to the bar, and I bought the 4 beers. I told the bartender that I was gonna take part in the challenge, and to pour the 4 beers into glasses while I turned around as well.

When we started, Ol dude named his beer straight away.
But,.....so did I.

Mich Light is waay paler than the other 3, so color gave that away, and I pushed it forward. Bud light tastes different than the other two, It was next to get pushed. The two "dry" beers I had to guess at, and I don't remember if I called that, but the fact remains that BL tastes bad, and that was the give away.

Mike, I found that if someone else is paying for the BL, I find it quite enjoyable!

Welded in, just got to figure out what I did with the little collar that holds the grinding discs on my grinder!:dammit:. I always finish what I do each time by cleaning up and putting all my tools away. Apparently not so much last time....and no....it's not the beer. That usually helps me perform better at any avenue I am preparing to do.:ack:

Sooooo.....I tried to go get a new collet for the grinder. Dewalt store is closed on the weekend. Off to harbor freight, bought a new grinder, the other one belongs to my brother. So missing part led to a new tool, it's a good day after all!
I had to take my daughter to her singing lessons, that's where I am now, sitting in my truck waiting for her.
My wife now says that she'll take the girls to the mall! WOOHOO! We know what that means, right? Three or four unmolested hours in the garage!
I'll pick up my son and me some lunch and I shall grind! Oh yes, I shall grind!
Then I get to sling mud. It doesn't get a whole lot better.

Hey man, you said you where/are going 5-lug. I was just curious.
lol
I am, I'm keeping the drums in the rear for now. Up front I'm just going to put in SVO calipers just to have some improvement over the old ones. I'll upgrade most definitely later as money opens back up. I might have done it sooner, you see, but now I have to buy some coil overs for the rear end.:jester:

I was thinking of painting the booster something besides black, got any extra of you orange @madmike1157 ?
Just a random thought/suggestion. That color you painted the GT stripe on your hood-how would that look covering your smoothed engine bay
(To me it would look good, specially with that awesome body color surrounding the bay :) ) lol

I understand that lol. I was just asking-a lot of the guys on here(and everywhere lol) do the cobra brake upgrade, so I was curious if that's what you where doing. Sadly all my foxes never made it to 5 lug lol

I would kind of like to do that. I just haven't given it deep thought yet.

Here's today's progress, welded in and ground down. Those frame rails really suck. They were very wavy as well as drifting inwards towards the front. The match up between the panel and the frame is a little funkier than I would like. It will do though. I'm going to bondo them tomorrow morning.
I want to weld up the radiator support where the prop rod goes and the plastic retainer. Got to try to remember how those were on there. I'll install a shock system when the time arrives. Anyone got a handy photo of their engine bay with that stuff on the support?
