Yea, if its your first time doing gears, expect to spend an entire day on them at least, if you plan on doing them right. You know you have to have the bearing races pressed and things like that, right? Unless you have a press at home, that's a trip to the machine shop and an extra day tacked onto your goal time. BUT, swapping the gears at the same time you're going to have the rear end open is a good idea.
 
its a whole new rear end with ford racing 3.73's that. put the 5 lug axles in. very simple to do. pulled the brake lines off new rear end becasue they were pinched. swaping everything over.
paid 100 bucks for ranger axles. perfect shape. brand new drums. and 2 brand new 235/50/17 tires.
