Lots of trim still missing, and the interior is still taken apart but from the pictures it looks pretty good. He couldn't get good side pictures due to the other cars around it. I'll need to make sure the sunroof seals get replaced and the subframe connectors get installed.

At least there is some progress with this whole fire mess.

I can't really tell from the pictures but it looks like the headlight assemblies need adjusted, and the front bumper cover that should have been replaced still has the license plate holes in it? I'd rather not reinstall the bracket if at all possible. Another WY law that isn't enforced.

And hopefully they paint the cheese grater taillights so they match the new paint. I think they look good on this car. That titanium two tone looks amazing in the pictures.

I also just noticed the door handles have been painted blue. They were trim black. I'm not sure if I like it or not.

Why would they do that? It could be something that sets it apart, but that should be a personal choice. I like trim black personally.

It was that way originally and I'd like it to stay that way. I'll call them Monday and make sure they go back to black.

I hope they pulled the quarter Glass out when they painted it. It looks great. Id have them re trim black the door frames too while they have it .

They probably got intimidated by the rivets and Hope's you didn't notice. I like the body colored handles. Black is what the are supposed to be.

I'd rather have the original front bumper with tag holes in it than the crappy black polyethylene replacement bumpers.

The OE tooled black urethane replacement bumpers are actually very nice. Way nicer then the aftermarket one that was originally on my car anyway.

Who makes good replacement headlight assemblies? Side marker and turn signal lamps as well. I'm just looking for stock replacements. The original ones leak now. I'm guessing due to the heat from the fire.

Also, my suspicions were right about them not removing the back window or quarter windows when they painted the body. They also sanded the black off of the door lock cylinders and didn't remove them either so those will need repainted as well. I spoke to the actual guys doing the work and they got the car after it was prepped, and whoever prepped the car doesn't work there anymore. Neither does the guy I dropped the car off with. It's a $hit show over there and my car is in the middle of it all.

I'll be going there again this Saturday to drop off the new OEM door handles and hopefully speak to the owner of the shop.

I originally ordered the Depo brand aftermarket metal ones that LMR offers and they are junk to put it nicely. They got me taken care of with the OEM stuff and I'm happy with the quality.

Things like this never go over easy. It's always one thing or another. Sorry you're stuck in the middle of all that. I have they get it up to your expectations by the time you take it home.

I did also let them know that the titanium color needs to be an eggshell finish and not a gloss finish. The painter didn't know that and said he would fix that.

It makes me nervous that they totally didn't detrim the car before prepping and refinishing it. Those door lock cylinders come out in about 5 minutes. That car could be peeling a month or six months from now very easily. The door handles, lock cylinders, quarter glasses , bumpers and what ever trim that's attached really need to be removed to ensure a long lasting paint job. The back glass on the hatch really doesn't need to come out due to the way its installed in the hatch, just have to remove the window moldings. If you havent read through my thread, these are some pics of my car last year when I redid it. Totally detriming it is the only right way to ensure solid paint adhesion. It appears in some on your pics they painted the car with some on that stuff still installed on the vehicle. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with everything Blakeus said, if the car wasn't detrimed before paint what else did they cut corners on. Also, they are working from an insurance estimate, if removing those items is on the estimate and they didn't do them, that's technically insurance fraud, if you need leverage to get things done right.
