My car = Slowest car evar

I've never seen a stock 5.0 run 97-98 mph in the 1/4 mile......thats a lot faster than stock.

They were e.t.ing the same not trapping the same, guess I forgot to mention that. H/C/I gears and exhaust should net me more than a 4-5mph increase though...

My car, when it was stock, ran a 13.73 @ 100.95 with a completely stock motor to the exhaust. With heads/cam and a stock intake/tb it ran 13.19@ 103.5. That being said, when I didn't know how to drive properly, I was in the low 14's with M/T's. The difference was a 5000 RPM launch, I was too afraid to do it. My sixty foot times where 2.1 in the low 14's and 1.7 in the 13's, its that simple, that is the difference.

what you go to the track, What kind of tire are you using and what are you launching at. If you are using a bfg drag tire or nitto. Then get rid of them, or better yet get a spare set of 10 holes and get M.T Et streets. I use them on my car, I run about 10-12 psi at the track and I launch at 6000rpms just dumping the clucth. I have no problem hooking at all. Car runs constint 1.6-1.7 60 foot. Your 2.1 means your spinning and that is were you are loseing everything.

although your statement does hold water but not in this case. when my engine was bone stock i crossed the line at 14.6 sec @ 98 MPH. and that was with a 2.4 60ft. had i gotten a 2.1 60ft out of that i would think i would have been pretty close to 13s.

Well, as we all know, each and every car is different. I know if I had those mods, I could do 12's. His problem almost sounds like it's not getting enough fuel in the top end which is killing his top end power. That's really all I can come up with. Try cranking up the fuel pressure some to see if it helps.

But I'm already running 12.5 and less on my A/F once I'm above 3K. If I crank up the pressue it'll get worse. Someone on the TweeCer board pointed out that it may be my ignition since I'm still running the stock coil and TFI module. Maybe the air+fuel with my compression ratio is killing the spark at the higher rpms?

Well, your mods could definetly put you in the 12's. Anyone that thinks different dont know what they are talking about anyways. My dads car run 12.40 with gt40 iron heads and not even p's. Your car doesnt need to be shifted any higher than 5100 or 5200 rpm anyways. My dads car never pulled good up top with gt40's. What do you have your timing set on? Even with a bad '60 your mph just be over 100mph easy. I guess its just something you'll find eventually. I have a stock 95 and it run 14.54 @ 94. Oh yeah, whats the elevation where you run? That can make a big difference too.

I figured with the cam and heads it would pull to 5500-5800 at least. The big indicator that the car isn't right to me is the traps. I expected closer to 105mph traps, which I'm not even close to. I'm in central TX, I don't know what elevation I'm at. The more I think about it the more I think I should change my coil to one with a higher output. It looks to be the original one that came with the car, so I has about 120K on it. I have a PS91 I can put on it, think I'll try that...

EDIT: OK, I'm at 972ft. above sea level, unless my GPS is wrong...
