my draglites wont fit, HELP!!!

I'm glad that everything has worked out. I have the same size tires on 15x8 inch Weld Draglites with 4.5 inch backspacing. Mine do not rub at all, and not a single hammer was needed to massage the metal. However, I did install rear airbags to prevent the rear quarter panels from "squatting" on takeoffs, thus preventing the inner wheelwell lips from slicing into the sidewalls. The car still rides at "Normal" height, and you can't tell that there's even any airbags in there, unless you look.

According to Summit Racing's newest catalog, these tires are 9-1/2 inches wide.

Hey not to jack this thread, and i've seen your car a billion times, but can you post a side shot? Does your car sit like a truck? It sounds like the back would be super high for some reason. I've got 265s on mine and they dont come near rubbing, but i know i'd at least need new shocks and springs and probably the air bags like you meantioned to keep a 295 from rubbing.

uuummmm yea, thats what i said..lol....they dont come near rubbing. I meant that with my stock and wore out rear shocks/springs, i wouldnt be able to run a 295

Yeah, all I meant was, the reason is because they are way shorter.... lol........I have 265/50's, too. I just wish they would fill the wheel well up a little more. :)

Yea i've got a guy lined up with some Saleen 16'' mesh style rims, the black with chrome lip ones, and i'm putting the biggest wheels all around that i can fit. Either that or if i dont get those, i'm sticking with my 10s and getting some big fat DRs for the back.

Sure, here's a few pic's that were taken two weeks ago.

Yep. Those were taken two weeks ago. That was the first day that we got it running. Tonight, I was able to drive it for the first time. NICE! :nice: It ran flawlessly from my brother's home to my home, about a 25 minute ride. That's only the second time that I've driven the car and the first time with a V-8. Here's another pic.

hissincobra- what are those up front? 4"? my dad says that those are too small for a street car due to the fact the have to some times make 45-50 mph turns how do they work for you on the street? does anyone know if he would have used a 5.5 inch backspace 15x10inch rim would he have had rubbing issue's? i want tire's that wide but dont want to run a wheel spacer or have rubbing issue's. how about the exhaust?

Hissing cobras rims look to be the same size as his brothers rims and i think he told me they were 15x5 or 15x7 up front and a 15x8 with a 4.5" bs on the rear. but im not sure.
but any way i just put my new cobra r's on today with 275/40 on back with the pass side tail pipe rubbing very little but my exhaust is all out of adjustment so thats no real problem and the front 245/40 tires had no rubbing at all. 17x8 and 17x9 rims.

Thanks GTkid, my tire sizes are the same as my brother's and are as follows.

Front:
15x7" Weld Draglites with 4.5 inch backspacing
215-60-15" B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's

Back:
15x8" Weld Draglites with 4.5 inch backspacing
295-50-15" B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's

With this setup, it's o.k. on the street. Mine is a bit different though, as I have 90/10 struts in the front. Thus, the car reacts a bit differently than a stock engineered 5.0. I have no problem though, nor does my brother, as he has this same setup.

The back rims/tires will work without rubbing or spacers, but you have to remove the quad shocks and add rear air bags.

Hey I hate to say it but it is impossible. There is nothing you can do as this is just too complex....so.......sell your rims to me!!!! ha There must be an easy fix. I just love those rims .
