Hi all. Have read the boards before but just became a member today. I am a 35yo male with a 95 GT convert. I will list what all I did to the car last winter, and then list what issues I am having. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

  • stock 120K mile bottom end
  • trick flow street burner top end kit
  • 75mm throttle body
  • BBK cold air
  • Pypes shorty header
  • Underdrive pulleys
  • Pypes off-road x-pipe
  • Bassani cat-back (what a sound!)
  • BBK 225gph pump
  • Mr. Gasket "Balanced" 195 therm
  • MSD 6AL, MSD coil, MSD cap, rotor and wires

It has the stock MAF, stock injectors, stock pressure regulator, no chip. Here is where it gets intersting. I read a Summit Racing tech article where they pretty much did the exact same build on a '95 and I am putting out substantially more power, and they did the injection and burned a chip. I will be the first to say my car only idles correctly about 10% of the time, and it runs FAT all the time (puzzling with the stock injectors??) My dyno #'s are as follows-

  • Dynojet research chassis dyno
  • 59 degrees F
  • 29.95 in-hg
  • Humidity 42%
  • Max HP - 275.27 @ 5000
  • Max TQ - 306.95 @ 4500
  • A/F ratio varies between 11.3 to 12.5 during the runs.

So after reading that Sumit Racing build up, I am almost scared I will lose power if I finish the last few things. I was planning on 30lb injectors, A MAF tuned to them, an adjustable regulator, having the chip burned and the trick flow nitrous system (hence 30lb injectors) I would leave it as is if it didn't use so much gas, idle horribly and I am worried I am washing down the cylinder walls!

Any good ideas before I spend another bunch of money?

If you are gonna custom tune you don't need an afpr :)

You are very underfueled with the OEM inj's :Word:

Get your fuel system upgraded, a more suitable meter, and then
you will be all set to get it tuned :nice:

30s will give you some room. get them and a 255 lph fuel pump. get a tune and you're done. if you lose power after that, then your tuner doesn't know what he is doing.

thanks for the input so far! Yes, it will be a custom tune by supposedly the only guy in Western Washington that does them.

Thanks for the heads up about the afpr. Thats $100 saved.

I would have thought I would be WAY lean too with my stock inj, but why are my #'s on the above dyno figures so rich????

Can never be "done"!!!

Already have the 255lph in the tank. Punctured the tank while putting the Bassani exhaust on, so went ahead and did pump when replaced the tank.

Idiot moment, bigtime!
