I've made a few big car decisions recently. I've commited to selling my '04 to my son in law in December and I've decided it's in the Notch's best interest to be returned back to Dave. They belong together. It just never sat right with me. Never felt like "my Notch". Besides, soon I'll be moving in with Dave so I'll still see the Notch every day. :nice:

There's no changing of ownership happening with my Capri. EVER. :D

Someday soon, maybe I'll be looking for another 5.0 5 speed Notch. A DD so I can keep my Capri as my toy.

Le sigh...

I thought you guys already lived together?

Not yet. Soon.

No details are finalized, as of yet. If it winds up that nobody wants to actually BUY my 'vert and it'd be easier to trade someone for it, Frankie may just have to wind up being happy with teh notch. Can't do anything until I get Stinky lined out comfortably and maybe add a radio and/or heater core to the GT, though, so it's kind of a wait-and-see thing...

BTW, doesn't a "herd" usually refer to livestock, like cows and sheep and such? Wouldn't a bunch of Mustangs be considered a stable...? (I dunno, I'm not all up on farmer lingo... :D )

Mustang = Horse = livestock = herd.

Herd of horses. :D

A stable is what you keep horses in.

fwiw, I'd be more than happy with the Notch if I knew you were completely ok with not having it back. I love the thing.

Let's see if that dude with the 5-speed '83 black notch 5.0 nibbles at the offer I sent him. If not, I'll probably just twiddle my thumbs until I'm ready to throw a for-sale/trade ad up.

Herd, stable, whatever ... how about a gaggle of 'Stangs? Or a smattering? A mess? A flock? I dunno. Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a linguist! :fuss:

So why not just keep the pervertable? You guys could just trade back and all would be well...right?

Because the Pervertible will always be a Pervertible. I don't want to deal with replacing the top (which presently needs replacing right now, anyway) every couple of years, or worrying about some idiot damaging the top with a sharp object or by leaning on it or whatever. Also, I don't like the way the 'vert chassis feels, as I would need to add SFC's, a strut tower brace, and/or other reinforcements just to make the thing feel halfway solid and not like a four-wheeled wiggly-worm. Also, because I really don't feel like farting around with a T-5 swap, nor do I want to (or can afford to) beef up a really old AOD to make it perform with the same "fun factor" as a T-5. And, again, the stock '86 motor just sucks, really - it runs well, but it's a freakin' slug, and I'm not keen on the idea of dumping a bunch of money and time into a 200k-mile motor just to make it keep up with the '87+ 5.0's.

Oh, and with Frankenstang moving into my place, we've got limited parking room. If she kept the notch (or the GT), we'd still be storing THREE vehicles between the two of us while she's still rockin' the '04 - the notch, the GT, and the Capri. I can probably talk my Mum into letting me borrow her driveway space to park one or two cars, but not three.

Aaaaaaand Frankie don't want teh GT no moe. No love for teh four-eye. :(

OMGWTFBBQ, are you trying to make me cry?

Why would you need two cars parked at your Mom's?

Not true Dave, you are quite the cunning linguist :p

Wait....now I'm really confused. Didn't you buy a place Lynn? I thought you got a nice new place with a garage. And Dave, don't you own a trailer? Why are you moving into Daves when you have a new pad with lots of parking space?
I'm only renting. With a bankruptcy under my belt, I couldn't finance. :( He owns his place.
