In my head, the car is done. (My head obviously doesn't know what my body does)
So I start thinking about what I want to do to the engine (Besides leave it alone)
This is what I don't want:
I don't want to do anything to adversely affect driveability.
I do not want to open the short block to add forged internals.
I do not want to do anything that causes the engine to run hotter.
So you're thinking leave it alone then right?
I really like the look of a cool induction system. The complexity of the thing intrigues me.
A single carb covered by a 14" aircleaner will only go so far for me, as for wow factor after opening the hood....it gets a 1 on a scale of 10.
The first thing I've considered is adding a fogger nitrous system. It's got all kind of "whoa!", and I can set it to a modest "stun," and not have to do a damn thing else to raise my open hood wow factor or (OHWF) to at least a 5.
At the same time, I will add 75-100 HP to the mix w/o compromising engine survivability.
The other thing I've considered is to modify my existing intake to allow me to run multiple carbs (three two barrels is the objective) a "six pack" in other words. OHWF should be like a 5 again I'd think.
Obviously, No HP improvement, but no worries about engine durability either.
Or I could also add the fogger to that, and get the 5 for the six pack, and the 5 for the fogger,...TEN!
The last, is really where I'm going I think. Since a 4.6 has a flat, horizontal head to intake mating surface, I'm also considering replacing that intake completely w/ a 1/4" aluminum plate and running 8 1bbl carbs sitting on little pedestals. That'd be one each per port. Gotta find a carb rated at 100 CFM or less that doesn't look like ass and small enough to sit in front of each other.
This should put the OHWF at a 10 I think.
I'll even consider the 8 port thing as a throttle body/injected thing since I have a MegaSquirt built and sitting waiting for an engine to control.
I also don't know where I'd get 8 little throttle bodies that won't cost a bazillion ba buck bahs. This will probably get killed off when I start to consider the fuel system. I currently have a carb pump, and no return line.
Whatever I do, I'm gonna do it myself, for the same reason I built the rest of the car myself. Because I can.
(Well, the fact that I'm cheap is also part of it)
If I put this out there and only two people reply or if somebody asks for a freakin cliff note, I'm gonna stop talking to you guys, and go trade the car in on a Subaru.

I can only see all that body work.
I don't mind the carb, it kind of goes with the theme of the rest of the car.
