My steering column is loose.... how to fix?

Since i bought my 88GT my whole steering column is loose/has play. Left/right and up/down. Its not just the wheel, its the whole column. So my question is... are there screws that could have came loose? Or is there somewhere to tighten it up? I took off the plastic surrounding the column, and wiggled the column, and couldnt really see where it could be tightened. Any ideas? Or do I need a new column?

Remove bottom trim on dash, look for four bolts holding the column to the dash fram and tighten if necessary

There are also a set of bolt behind the multi function switch that are known culprits as well.

Those were mine as well. Funny how those two little guys caused such a havoc on mine.

What's funny is they are hidden so well that if your not specifically looking for them you'll miss them.

Maybe I will try and tackle this tonight. Do i have to pull the whole column out, or can i do it while still on the car?

Just take the plastic covers off the colum and everything is right there.

Easy fix. Took off the plastic, took off the turn signal stem and there were the bolts. They were loose, so pulled them and put some locktite on the threads and back in. Took 20 minutes total from start to finish. I could probably do it again in 10 minutes. My column is 100% wobble free.
