Mystichrome bumper damage

Man, I haven't been on this forum in YEARS. lol

Anyway, my 10 year old son closed the garage door on my rear bumper last night. The paint was by no means perfect, but THIS...it's just so obvious. There are three parallel scratches and the middle one is kind of deep, sort of a gouge, I'd say. It's about 1/2" thick, too and went ALL the way down. I'm absolutely devastated.

I've been reading a lot about the mystichrome paint but I'm STILL confused. I'd love to keep the factory application but don't want to pay Ford ANYTHING. I'm hoping now that it's 2010 prices have come down.

Any advice is appreciated.

Any body shop worth it's salt will (by what I have seen) be able to give you a perfect match. This has been discussed many times on various forums, and from owners who have had paintwork done. It seems to be no different than any other color, just a bit more expensive. Sorry to hear about the mishap. GL
