NASCAR WHEELS ON A FOX

2 road courses? WOW thats a lot. The rest is still driving around in circles.
And what ever happened to racing real stock cars, not tube chassis with hideous fake bodies and engine designs never used in a street legal application, ever. Maybe I dont get it because I'm not redneck, huh?

So raising the level of technology and making the cars more and more advanced is redneck? As apposed to running some junker off the showroom floor with a bunch of **** cut out and a cage in it? I can't believe people can be so ignorant to bad mouth things they know nothing about at all. "just driving around in circles". Such an intelligent and truthful statement. You sound like a baseball fan. Yeah, the races can be boring. But I would hope any car enthusiast could appreciate 43 850hp, 10k rpm, naturally aspirated, pushrod small blocks running at 200mph inches from each other and diving into corners. That definitely doesn't take any skill or balls on the driver's part though does it?

*Waits for next incredibly ignorant retaliation*

I love all kinds of automotive racing. The thing with Nascar is there really is alot of skill in getting that win, look at todays race. Nascar is cool cause thoes cars can take a beating and still go onto win or atleast still run. Same can be said for drag racing. All of us with powerful cars know its not just mash the loud pedal and hold on, it takes skill to do it PERFECTLY every time but the people I know who are not into cars see drag racing as something any un trained monkey can do :notnice:

Which is much cooler, I agree. No reason to bad mouth another form of it though

Right...while i don't necessarily enjoy watching NASCAR, and i will definitely take every opportunity to crack jokes about them, i do acknowledge the skill it takes to "drive in circles" because it really is more than just that. I don't really like how they're all crazy purpose built race cars...i wish somehow it really was a "stock car race" but i know that's impossible. I do really really love the engines though...i'm all about high RPM/high HP carbed engines. I just personally prefer racing that requires more cornering/braking/acceleration as opposed to mostly top speed drafting.

Anyways to the original poster, if you want the "look" of it, i'd suggest getting yourself some stock 10 holes, paint them black and run some nice fat tires front and back with white letter tires.

Cause I'm sure it would be fun to watch camrys(camries??) and tauruses(tauri???) go around the track at 75 compared to 200...

:p

I watch it every weekend. I enjoy it. Call me redneck I guess. I dont watch football or baseball. I would go to a game though. I have however been to many races and can hanestly say I enjoyed every one of them. Should be going to Charlotte and Darlington this year.
I will say the sport has not been the same since Earnhardt died.

I thought it was stupid, called it redneck, because it sure is. I ALMOST saw a race at Dover but it got rained out. It actually looks like a really good time, the cars sound sick, they do go 180 mph constantly throughout the whole race. I actually think its pretty bad ass. Even tho I spent most of the day taking pictures of every mullet and redneck I could find lol. I would really love to get to a race and actually see it in person. My brother went to one at dover and loved it. He's now a frequent NASCAR watcher. And the thing about real cars and stuff and tube chassis cars being lame (vikingpower), alot more people would be dead if it wasn't for today's technology.

tube chassis came into play in the 60's from Holman & Moody, BIG ford guys. If you wanna run around doing 150-200mph without a well designed tube chassis for a couple hours, be my guest, Just hope like hell you dont wreck.

Show me a mass produced stock car that you would want to see racing nowadays.

Circle track racing is a blast to watch and participate in. Dont get me wrong, I love most kinds of racing, circle, road, rally, motorcycle racing, but usually with circle racing you can see the whole track. You can see all the action with the turn of a head.

And please, PLEASE for the love of god dont call this sport redneck. Yes there are a lot of fans that are but, the crews and drivers arent mentally challanged, drunk, toothless, imbreds(i wouldnt think). These guys are freaking smart and talented. Crew chiefs punching numbers to figure out fuel mileage, 7 over the wall guys, that can change 4 tires and pound in 18 gallons of fuel in 14 seconds.

Well dang it! Its too bad I waited so long to read this thread again, its great! I suppose you think your comments are clever, and from the looks of your keystroking you must like the sound of your own voice. Kudos to you!
But I am not ignorant and AM CERTAINLY NOT a baseball fan. The strikes ended that when I was a kid. Greedy bastards.

As for NASCAR, hell yes I wanna see it like it was in the old days, balls out, strip em and run em as fast as they'll go. Everybody knows that you can throw hundreds of millions of dollars into motorsports and get some fancy hoopla out of it. We've already got F1 for that.
It must have been nice to buy the same car that some guy took out on the old dirt, sand, and otherwise rudimentary paved tracks and actually went 150+ mph. I can relate to guys like that, because many of them didn't have sponsors or tons of money. Only a passion for racing and wrenching on cars.

Besides, racing improves the breed.
