I am not trying to be a dick but...... Just my 2 cents.
How about working part time and getting a grant and going to a Tech school like Renton Votech. learn a trade and get a real ****ing job that pays more than min. wage.

There are grants you can get that will pay for all your classes as long as you work part time no more than 35 hrs a week.
You could take the Ford program at Renton Tech or body and paint or there are tons of programs out there and some will find you a job.

Don't be a slave all your life working min. wage jobs.
Go to school so you can get a good job and buy a BRAND NEW MUSTANG

Also not trying to sound like a dick, but...a common misconception about our line of work is "dead end job" or "only bums with no skills need apply. The truth of the matter is you can make a career out of this while earning a decent wage. Yes you do have to bust your butt, though I find it rewarding to actually have control how far I can succeed in my line of work. A lot of you may be very suprised what someone can earn per year, especially as you climb the ladder at Les Schwab. I'll just say I should gross between $65-70k next year. Not too shabby for a young guy like me with no schooling. Do what works best for you, and school is a great option if thats for you. Just my 2 cents.

you wont evever see one, but trust me he isnt lying... I know what my manager makes gross and net, and its no chump change. if you still think its bs... keep in mind... this is a company that has no debt whatsoever... none we own everything outright... all bills are paid in full with cash. what a manager makes varies from store to store, and I cant tell you what mine makes, but I assure you its no bs our managers go through alot and do a ton of work, and they get paid well for it, just like the rest of our employees.

rob can chime in with more about what an assisant manager makes. if he wants

25k-30k is poverty level
But can you buy a house and a car on that.
Buying a house should be the most important thing. If you rent you are just throwing money away.

I wish I had bought a house when I was 20.

Had to chime in here. Les Schwab managers are responsible for multi-million dollar stores. In my mind that is a big time executive position. I can say that a manager not making 6 figures with our company is at a very small store. I hope I dont sound like an ass, but I really have no reason to lie about this as it benefits me in no way. As for 25-30k being poverty level let me say this, I bought my first house at 22yo with no outside help, $1,000 dollars down and I was only making 25-30k a year. Not a lot of money, but enough to get by.

a LOT of it is from commissions/spiffs/incentives. but they do! Go to the Bellevue Firestone and talk to the district manager like you want a job, he'll tell you how much they make. They prefer to pay well to keep the workers happy. I started out 10.50 + comm and I didn't have any sales exp.
