I plan to get some new headers to replace my old Flowtech longtubes. They were cheap at the time I bought them but I've decided to spring for something much nicer.(and coated) So, what's the opinions on these brands: BBK, MAC, other?
Honestly, if you like your headers and want something "coated" Macs are out. But I also hear that BBK's coatings arent that great either. If you can afford to have the down time on your car then just get your existing ones jet hot coated. I hear getting it done seperately is much better than getting coated ones from BBk. Most people have the ceramic ones rust in about a year (at least on the sn 95 stuff). But we have another guy with jet hot coated MAC's and hes really happy with them. Honestly if flowtech made cheap long tubes for SN95's I'd probably go that route myself and just dump my shorties all together.
If you're looking for a quality header, it's next to impossible to beat Kooks Longtubes. They're a little pricey, but are probably the best constructed header i've ever seen, fit better than any I have seen and their coatings hold up!
Bassani's are pricey as well. At least if you know you spent the money for Kooks you could not get any better. MAC anything is out of the question with poor quality . BBK do have better quality than MAC but the collector has a small opening negating the power they could make.
Haven't dealt much with Hooker but they sound ok.
I've alway's felt BBK makes the best bang for the buck header out there. If money isn't a concern then I'd go for Hooker or Kook's headers which is what I'm replacing my BBK's with over the winter.
