I'm needing some advice on this. i read the tech article and it had some great info but I had some more ? . the previous owner replaced the stock quadrant with a summit racing one w/o a fire wall adjuster. well we can pretty much guess the cable sucks and the sleeve has already melted against the headers. here are my ?'s

1. should I keep the summit quadrant and get a oem cable or maximum motorsports universal cable that clears the headers and fire wall adjuster.

2. junk the whole setup I have and get a new one like maximum motorsports, bbk or ford racing which would you recommend?

3. will I have trouble with any kit now that the stock set up is gone including the parts like springs and such that he removed putting in the new setup?

4. do you guys recommend getting the fire wall adjuster?

Thanks for any info you can pass along.

go to Steeda.com, get the kit that comes with the NON-adjustable cable and 2 step quadrand and firewall adjuster, cant go wrong. Just installed it this weekend with a new spec 2+ clutch and fly, I am soooooo pleased! 100 bones at steeda, great investment, easy to install. A pair of needlenose and a prybar!

Didn't even think of steeda, man now another one to consider. I was hoping for some more opinions. since I'm sure most members have change these things out. I thought that only the oem cables where good though, and to stay away from other brands, that's what I read from my searches. Is the steeda cable any good in the long run? I'm still looking for opinions on the other brands, I need to order soon though this cable feels like it ready to go.

Covered this many times before, but here it is again, the formula for The Happy Left Foot:

multi-hook quadrant (such as UPR triple-hook) + OEM **FORD** NON-adjustible cable (MM sells a groovy "universal" for $75 shipped) + just about any firewall adjuster = :nice:

Again, for those that missed it...

multi-hook quad + FORD cable + FWA = :nice:
