Need advice on Heads W/my setup

Hey everyone, I'm starting to plan out my winter months attack on my engine and would like some advice on a possible aluminum head upgrade.

I'm currently running a 306ci, x-cam, 1.7 Rockers, Port & polished Winsor JR iron heads accompanied by GT40 intake, C&L air tube (76mm Maf) 75mm TB and 24lb injectors. Exhaust flows VERY freely with BBK longtube headers and such. Unfortunately it hasn't seen the dyno or been tuned, but have run my best of 12.5 1/4mile with 1.8 60ft, so I know she's making some power.

I'd like to upgrade to aluminum heads, hear AFR's are great, but for my set-up, am not sure what size to go? Will they work good with the gt40 intake, or should I look into different intakes as well? My goal is to be running 11.9's N/A. Any information is helpful!

185s seem to be hot especially if you plan to go bigger down the road. a custom cam may also throw some more power into the combo.

The pistons you have may decide if you can even go with 185's.
I'd also consider twisted wedges.

The engine was bored .30 over, so they're not original pistons. I believe they are just hypereutectic that should come with valve reliefs already, so I should be all set. Previous owner had the engine redone, that why I'm not 100%
