Need Advice

ok this friday I am going to get my car retuned so I can hopefully take it higher than 4500 rpms and get close if not over the 500 rwhp mark. I do have a pair of MT drag slicks that I run at the strip that hook to the bone. Now on motor I wasnt to worried about it, but these slicks DO NOT spin no matter how hard I launched. I was thinking should I get some longer wheel studs? If so how long and how do you put them in? I have never done it so I am not sure how to do it. I think you knock them out the back side right?

You'll snap the axle before you shear the studs in many cases.. You can buy NMHR legal 3" studs from ARP, MOROSO etc... They get pressed out through the backside, you just need to pull the c-clips and slide the axles out to do it. They may or may not fit under you stock center caps depending on which wheel you run.

I assume you already got your fuel pump?

yeah I got a walbro gss 307 for 90 bucks at the charlotte autofair

Have you upgraded the rear end at all?

What trans are you running?

lol I know what you are going to say dont worry about the wheel the tranny wont last.....my no it is all stock. the rear end is stock and the tranny has been rebuilt with a world class kit and the clutch is stock. I am sure they wont last long but I think it will last atleast a couple of times. There is a guy near me with similiar setup but I dont think he has as much as I do and he runs like 7.6s with the same stock parts I have and some...

Well 500 rwHP is a lot. You are right, they may hold up for a while..but something going to let go. I'm thinking an axle shaft first.

FYI, all Mustang transmissions are World Class. It has nothing to do with strenght. It refers to the 3-peice synchros. Even 4-banger T-5's are World Class.

Don't bother with wheel studs in stock axles. Just get better axles that come with better wheel studs.

Your current drivetrain setup sounds like a timebomb if you use slicks.
Just remember this, a good running t5 is worth $550 or so, a broken one is worth $100 or less.
And if you break an axle the tow home is going to be $100 depending on mileage.

I'd consider running on a different tire, hell you may ruin the traction lock in the burnout box with slicks.
