I'm about to take my '88 GT out of 2 years of storage and make it my (once again) daily driver. One thing I've always wanted to change has been the wheels and the stance. I found some wheels I like, but hope someone with some Fox experience can offer some help. The wheels I found are 17x10 rear (25mm offset) and 17x9 front with 20mm offset. These seem awfully wide, and the ad even admits you need to remove the quad shocks to fit the rears but I think they would look great if they fit. Anyone out there running this size with a mild (as in 1") drop? What size tires would you recommend? Any other issues? I'm pretty easy on the car and don't mind a little bodywork on the fender lips, but major surgery is out of the question. Any other wheel and tire advice would really be appreciated, Thanks!!

Try to find the rear rims in 9 inch width. It will make your life easier.
For tires plan on staying 265 and under.
People make a big fuss about getting the widest rims, what they don't realize is that it does little to nothing for traction.
It's more about the tire quality itself than it is about a few millmeters in width.
