ordered for a 03 Mach 1
4.10 gears
Strut Tower Brace
Dallas Mustang Speedo Recal
Steeda X-Pipe with high flow cats
Steeda Cat Back
Steeda Tri-Ax

now here's the question

do I get the Steeda Ultra Light Sport Springs
or the Steeda Drag Springs?

I drag often but I drive the car daily and I like to carve the odd corner

which is better?

anyone drag with sport springs? hows the traction?

any input is greatly appreciated

thanks!

Marc.

I have BBK sport springs..I launch from 6,200 RPM's on Nittos, and hook hard on the street. I use slicks at the track.
I would get the sport springs if you like to hang the ocassional curve....me personally I dont like to sacrifice curve handling for straight line handling. I like to keep it in the median ;-)

I had the Eibach pro kit on my old 91 LX 5.0 and I loved the
extra traction and handling it gave me but,the drop is pretty
much the same as the Steeda sport springs(1.25" vs. 1.5").
To answer your question no I havn't used the Steeda ss springs
before. It shouldn't hurt your traction that bad when dragging
conpaired to the stock springs.I talked to a salesmen at Steeda
before about Steeda drag springs and he told me that you should
only get the drag springs if you race at the track only because they
are not meant for the street he said so,I got the Eibach pro kit and
was happy with it.In my opnion I would only get the drag springs if
your stang is a track only car.Since you said you drive on the street
and like to carve corners I say get the Steeda sport springs I think
you would be better off that way since the drag springs aren't meant
for street use.I think if you go with the sport springs it will not hurt your
E.T.'s at the track that bad because your only really dropping the car
1.25".The drag springs aren't meant to carve corners with so,with the
sport springs you get the best of both worlds. If I were you I would get
the Steeda sport springs.

looks like I will be going with the sport springs

i was just told that I should look into a progresive rate sport spring

apparently eibach makes a good progressive spring that is soft at first (good for weight transfer) but stiffens up under load (good for carving)

sounds like a good deal to me, anyone know more about this?

My Eibach pro kit I had on my 91 LX lowered it to 1.5" after the springs
had time to settle. With the Eibach's I had no problem with straight line
preformance and handling was perfect carving corners.I would also upgrade
your shocks and struts because with any lowering spring they will wear out
quick! If I were you I would also consider chamber caster plates to get
good alignment. Two weeks to a month your springs will settle and I would
get a four wheel alignment so,you don't get unwanted tire, strut, and shock
wear that will happen if you don't get your alignment corrected.I think
a Eibach Pro kit would be great for you since you said you like to carve
corners.
