Hey guys,
Been rebuilding my 66 289 since christmas and its finally ready to go. Problem is that we are not possitive how the wiring goes to the solenoid. We got it so the starter would turn over, but it started in the on position of the key, not the start. Nothing happens in start but every thing goes in on. Any ideas? I think weve tried every other combination but somethings not right.

Also, i cant find the line that goes of the vacuum advance of the distributor. Im goin to order one tomorrow but i should be able to hear it run tonight right?

On the solenoid, there is "S" and "I" post - make sure red - blue stripe wire goes to "S" post and brown wire goes to "I" post.

Yes, you should be able to hear it run without vacuum advance line, but I wouldn't drive without it. Make sure the vacuum is plugged on the carb/manifold.
