Wow hey ratio 411 wanna help me out with my predicament on my thread? :D
Sure...
I started a thread ("lets discuss aftermarket heads") a few days ago though... there we were talking about the model program I use and trying to figure if it was really reliable.
I like it and it seems logical, but if I post what it says... I take no credit/blame for the results... ;)

Well when I drive I hardly ever rev the engine past 4500 .

So what I got so far is

1) my CAM is to small ( Not going with a biger CAM )

2) I need better flowing heads ( try it with Twisted Wedge Aluminum Cylinder Heads )

3) I need a single plane intake ( still think I can do the 300 with this intake but open for suggestions ) try it with this SP intake
SBF ALUMINUM INTAKE WEIAND X-CELERATOR #7515

Ratio take a look at this intake DTA compareing the duel plane cobra with other older single plane intakes.

Hmm found the program, looks like 3.3 is the current version.

Seems nice produces similar numbers to Dyno Sim on my 390 but a little higher.

If you usually run the car under 4500 a single plane isn't really the ticket. The Cobra intake was good enough for 306 hp in a GT350, so factoring in the advances in cam profiles it should be a fine power maker.

The two SP intakes I tend to recommend:

1: Torker 289
2: Weiand X-Cellerator

The intake comparo site has them lumped together...
In truth the Weiand has a smaller plenum.
Anyway, look at every dual plane on there, the F4B is unarguably the best. Then compare it to the Weiand.
The F4B is beat in both hp and torque, even at low rpms.
This data just justifies what I preach all the time.

When I model a Single plane, I use small port/plenum dimensions to model the T-289.
I modeled every Twisted head in the menu.
I think the cam is good, the power curve picks up with intake and/or head improvements.
