You can see all my current mods in my sig...

With all that, I was only able to make 263rwhp and 331rwtq. The car drives good. I think the intake and cam are way to small though.

I'll be putting the following on in a couple of weeks and wanted to see if you thought these parts would work much better and get me above the 300rwhp mark:

Trick Flow Track Heat Intake
Comp Cam XE274HR http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Search/CamDetails.asp?PartNumber=35-518-8
Bassani O/R X-Pipe
C&L True Flow Inlet Pipe (I know much hp here, I just like them)
Spintech Pro Street Mufflers

Thanks...

The parts you listed will definitely help. Isn't that Lunati cam pretty small? What was your A/F ratio? Can we see your dyno graph? I think your car could use a good tune, check your fuel pressure, bump up the timing. Other than that, remember that your auto tranny will soak up more power than a T-5. Also, you will probably need to get your chip re-burned to make the most of your new cam.

Yeah i think that cam will help out a ton... Thats a pretty big jump. IF your using 1.6's then your going form .500 and .510 to .556 and .566 on the lift.. Your car probably won't be as smooth to drive now (but the power is worth it in my opinion)

I take it you have the TFS track heat heads or a spring upgrade on your twisted wedge heads? Because according to trickflow the max valve lift is .540 if you have just the standard twisted wedge heads.

Yes I have upgraded springs that are rated up to .600

I'm hoping the cam/street intake was the cause of the low dyno numbers. From what I've heard about the XE274HR, it should make good power with the 331.

It is out of the ordinary for an Autologic chip to go bad???

It seems like when the chip gets dyno tuned, it runs great for a while and then all of a sudden it'll start running like crap.

Is it just me or does this Dyno run look wierd? The hp curve looks like what the torque should look like and tq curve looks like a backward hp curve right? IMO theres somthing really wrong here, your hp curve is way too flat and your tq start off really strong but takes a dive at 4k.

I think it looks weird too.

I'm hoping that my trick flow street intake and current small cam were acting as a bottleneck thus killing off any power at high rpms. It that was the case, then it should be resolved once I swap those things out...well hopefully

I have some what a similar setup as you....What are the specs on the cam? Your current and the comp one you want to get....? Cuz I have a stick (heads in sig. and an edelbrock performer intake for now....which is a small intake for my setup) and I ran a 13.7@109 w/ a 2.4 60 ft. I think something is definately wrong with your setup...Cuz the TFS intake is gonna be similar to my performer and so that only leaves the cam which may be to small. Also, you seem to be running a bit rich. DO you have an AFPR if not get one and lean it out just a tad bit. Or reburn that autologic when you get the cam and stuff. Good luch heep us posted on how everything goes.

I have a 331 with the XE274 cam, AFR185s, and Holley intake, so I will give my experiences. The cam will have a little lope to it, and you will need to bump the idle speed up a bit or it will surge and die. The power range is from around 2500 to 6200 rpm. I have low compression (8.6:1), so it's a little soft on the low end, but the extra cubes helps. My car runs mid 12s @ 111 depending on the weather. I dynoed it when the motor was new and it made 325/335 rwhp/tq. At that time it was only trapping at around 108, so I suspect that it is making more around 340 rwhp at this point. If you want to make good power, I'd step up to the Comp XE282 or Trick Flow Stage III. With enough compression, longtubes, and a good set of heads, you can make 400 at the wheels.

Here is a little clip of how my car sounds at idle. http://members.cox.net/davewarnke/Car/MOV00078.MPG

im going with a Keith Craft 347, Performer RPM manifold and a set of thumper prepped gt-40 heads, when i was planning for a 306 i purchased a Crane 2031 and some 1:7 RR...

is this cam going to be too small for a 347? i was on the verge of ordering a 2030 but dont know if i need the extra lift etc...

whaddya think??
