need opinions on this hood scoop

How much is that scoop? A cowl hood can't be that much more. I'd put the money towards saving up for a cowl hood but that's just me.

Unless you're running a carb'ed setup with something like a K&N Xtream top on it and/or having it sealed up to the hood, or you've found a nifty way to route some air ducting to your intake, then the scoop won't do jack. You'll only be adding a big obstruction to your driving view and a huge amount of extra drag, just for looks.

Bear in mind that if your car is equipped with Mass Air and you go trying to re-route the air ducting to make it draw from that scoop, it will likely give the MAF some screwy readings and you'll have drivability issues (running lean/rich, car jerking around at various speeds, poor MPG, etc.). If you're only wanting to do it as a means of getting cooler air, it'd be far cheaper and easier just to get a nice CAI off of eBay, or (unless you've got enough mods that exceed its flow capacity) the stock airbox with a drop-in K&N, since it already pulls air from the fenderwell.

Are you running pro-street? Just get a cowl hood.
