I'm looking for a pic of a black Fox GT with a Stalker nose, Cobra rear bumper and 3 inch cowl hood....maybe a Cobra wing, and with silver Cobra R rims. This is basically my buddy's car now only his is red and i'm trying to talk him into painting it black...lol

This was one my past stangs, it doesn't have the cobra rear bumper or nose but it does have the cobra wing and cowl hood. Maybe someone can photoshop it in for you.

Paint code is B92P , black with blue pearl. Custom mixed with about 200% added pearl per gallon. Hard to capture in a picture, but basically it looks like metallic blue with candy black in the sun only. Pretty sweet IMO. ENJOY

went with the y2k hood, was getting 18" y2k rims to match but they were on backorder and they gave me a super deal on the cobra Rs yea yea i know, looking into diff wheel options now.

heres right after paint. Did put the saleen side skirts on or mouldings. But the back is pretty much the same.

Enjoy, once you go black , youll never go back!!!

That's pretty close except for the hood....i forgot to mention it has Cobra R's on it so that's a pretty close match! I notice you have convertible side views....that's different, i've only seen that on a few hard tops.

Here's a pic of his car for kicks. It's been lowered since that pic. It also has a heavy pearl to the paint which is nearly impossible to get in pictures.

Ok rookie....i'm callin you out on this one. If they're out there, get me 5 pics of 5 different cars, THAT HAVE T TOPS, that have those side views :D

Trust me on this one....if that's the first pic of them on a hatch that i've ever seen, then they're sure as hell not common....if i'm obsessed enough to have over 500 pics of Mustangs saved on my PC, and 90% of them are Fox's....i think i'd have a pic of one by now if they were out there? :rlaugh:

88s are so rare.... ill try and dig a couple up though JUST FOR YOU

Well, while i don't think they came stock, there certainly were very few so the lack of seeing enough true '88 t top cars means anything's possible. Hell i just went through my whole collection of pics and i don't have a single picture of any hard top or t top Mustang with vert mirrors aside from your car and that coupe i posted earlier.

hmm scary stuff...something i didnt know about fox mustangs...i looked up some pics of 88 t-top cars and each of them does in fact have convertible mirrors...i have never ever noticed that before...will continue to search to see if that is in fact how they were...

EDIT: so far found 2 GT's with vert mirrors and one t-top notch (owner is a member here) but the notch has regular mirrors...

...the search continues...

ok so here is what i have found thus far, i figured i should include some pics...

This car is currently on eBay, and is listed as an 88...it has the vert mirrors

Also here is the drool-worthy T-Top notch that sometimes finds its way onto StangNet by its lucky owner...the CarDomain site says it too is an 88, but it has the standard mirrors.

Here is another GT found on CraigsList, listed as an 88, with the vert mirrors. the ad did specify that it is a california car, but no mass air sensor is visible in the engine pic...88's in cali were mass air cars...soooo not sure if the cali thing has anything to do with the mirrors....??

Another GT from CarDomain...once again with vert mirrors...listed as an 88

for the record that my car when I first started body work, old motor, blower etc.

I dont know what its a hard concept to grasp, it seems they changed to vert mirrors mid year as soon as they decided to can the whole project afterall. Im not finding enough info since they are so rare as it is, I have a needle in a haystack, I bought the car stock and have done all the mods myself. I could have (perhaps should have) restored it to original cond, but it was too tempting to push over 400 ponies and behold, my present setup. I like to say its 49% show and 51% go.
