going that low might give you alignment problems. have you left money in the budget for that.

I have 295/45-18s on 18x10s in the rear with 1.5" drop and they aren't even close to rubbing. It looks pretty damn sweet


As far as alignment goes, I would imagine you're going to need caster camber plates to get rid of the negative camber. I installed the Steeda plates and they allow for +/-1 degree camber. I didn't get it aligned yet but we pushed the struts out a bit untill the tires looked even by eye. Driving it down the road it tracks very well so it is close. You may need an adjustable panhard bar if your rear gets pushed to one side. It is very easy to replace. A few bolts and done. I will be measuring mine today to see if mine needs one. the camber plates replace the upper strut mounts, so you will need to do them when you install the springs, or do the job twice. i only know of two plates on the market. the J&M camber plate and the maximum motorsports caster & camber plates. the MM plates are much more expensive.

one allows you to adjust caster as well. depending on what you want to do with the car will decide. if you drop the car a significant amount, caster may need to be adjusted as well after lowering. the only other way to adjust caster on these cars is to shim the lower control arm. most dont need to adjust caster though. for racing applications, caster adjustment could be beneficial.

Dang bigcat...if I'd checked on the J&M I probably would've gotten those. I saw AmericanMuscle has them for $230, $70 less than Steeda. At least it's a name I trust. They appear to be exact in design as well except for the J&M's having .8 more degrees of adjustability.
I measured the wheels this afternoon and I do need an adjustable panhard bar.

Yes I know, just a few bolts and done. Just ordered a Steeda adjustable and will be on this weekend. Wish I would've known last week Oh well, easy 10-15 minute job

As far as installing new camber/upper strut mounts, it is nothing to it as the factory ones have to be removed while doing the springs anyway.
Strut assembly out, compress spring, remove nut, remove factory strut mount, remove factory spring, replace with new spring, replace with new camber/strut mount, replace nut, let spring uncompress and replace back in the car. It literally is that easy!

to tell you the truth, the entire suspension on this car is very easy compared to some vehicles. ford did very well when designing parts for serviceability. have you looked at your power steering rack? its one of the easiest i have ever seen. thanks ford!
