need real power

Well, here is whats up. I wanted a R6 Crotch Rocket, but the price is 8,200 with some help of a friend and his mom that works there. It is more money than I planned for it to be. I wanted to pay about 7,500-7,800, but I do not think that will be happening. I know it's in the ball park but I do not think I want to pay over 8,000. So with that said i might as well stick that money into my baby. I have a Manual 2000 GT. It has a 2000 Cobra R spoiler, 95 Cobra R Hood, Steeda front end with a paint job to top it off. The motor has nothin but bolt-ons which include BBK full length headers, BBK shorty X-pipe (no cats) flowmaster American thunder cat back, BBK intake, BBK 75mm throtle body, and BBK underdrive pullies.

As of spring I will be putting on a procharger with an intercooler and some gaudges to go along with it. Sence I probly wont be getting the Bike I might as well stick the rest of that money into internals  I'm thinking about 7,500 without including the price of the blower. Would that be enough for a crank, rods, cams, and bore it out to a 4,9 or a 5.0... I want that price to also include labor.

Is it posible to do that much work with that little of money
any sugestions on parts
I still want to beable to run pump gas
I'm not too go with internals so I thought I'd get some advice on this part so please tell me if somthing doesn't look right, sound right, or is just supid of me.

I think you could get it done for that much. If you go with a built short block from D.S.S. or CHP its around 3-4k depending on options and stuff. I know a few places in Ohio that would pull your engine, swap everything onto the new shortblock, install the engine, and dyno tune for less than 3500.

forged shortblock will cost you 2500-3500
then you will have to decide how much power you want. More power means more money which would mean things like a better fuel system.

forged short block?

I am sorry but i don't know much about serious modifcations...
I plan on using the block I have and putting about 400-500hp. Nothing super high right now.
lol
forged as in forged internals. You could use your block have it bored .02 over and put a longer stroke in it. It could save you around 400 to use your current block.

If you want a 5.0 cubic inch motor, you may have to go with a big bore and big bores arent that great with power adders. Side walls are a little thin.
