Need some C4 information

My father-in-law just purchased a '67 notch. He already has a 302 set to put in it, and he's mating it with the stock C4. He wants me to find him a good price on a torque converter (in the 2200-3000 range), but I dunno anything about auto's. What fits? I see different sizes and spline numbers. How many splines stock? What's a good size?

if your looking for a "good" c4 try to find the 75 maverick c4 I do know that that particular tranny will hold out the gears until you shift them. as far as splining 32 is nice to have as opposed to 27. as far as converters go ptc makes some good converters I have had a couple.
