i have a high flow oil pump and my psi is always really high. i took it around the block and it only seemed to get louder. i may end up just putting the stock ones back on.

Around the block???how long does that take?be patient,it takes time, they won`t pump up and become quiet right away.
Mine were loud too at first,(clackitty, clack big time). If they are set up with the correct preload they will quiet down.Let it run.

roller rockers are noticeable at idle, maybe while accelerating. they make a very specific sound. I like it. I wouldn't consider it "loud" though.

 In my case the Crane 1.7 roller rockers were MUCH more quieter in operation,(after the lifters pumped up),and still are... compared to the junk 1.6 stock Ford rockers they replaced.

Properly operating roller rockers make a... "sewing machine", type of precision mechanical noise which is on the quiet side.

the lifters will be pumped in in about 15 seconds. if you got oil pressure, they're pumped up. some rockers make more noise than others. mine make a sound , a little at idle but get a little noisier as the rpms go up.

the lifters "should" be pumped up in about 15 seconds, but that's not always the case, after resetting the lash on my friends cobra (AFR 185's with Comp pro magnum rockers) it took more than 15 seconds...more like 2 or 3 minutes. and yes, he does carry excellent oil pressure...every engine is different. some make a mild cacophony, much like a sewing machine like 8950HO mentioned. I run comp magnum roller tip ball stud rockers, and they make a little noise, but not obnoxious...but the majority of my experience is with fully adjustable rockers, not pedestal mount.

at any rate, as long as the preload is between 0.020"-0.060", the rocker geometry is correct, and there's no other interference, they should quiet down
