I am doing front springs on my '90 mustang, and I'm not having any luck getting my new ones in.

I am looking for the ford "clamshell" type spring compressor to rent from someone this weekend. If you have one, please let me know. PM or respond here.

Thanks a lot.

Did you disconnect the end links? That allows more travel for the springs.

Just unbolt the 2 big A-arm bolts. Make sure you put a jack under it first.

Yeah, I disconnected the sway bar and tie rod ends.

I also unbolted the control arm and put a jack under it to try to compress the new spring up into place. The jack just slides out as the spring tries to compress.

autozone will lend you one for free. But you have to pay the deposit.
