Need your opinions: PI heads+cams

Well today i was weak and figured i'd look on corral.net and ebay at the current prices for PI heads and Pi cams. While looking around on ebay i notice this guy has a set of FRPP PI heads+cams that supposedly has 256 miles on them, pics only show oxidation and they still have the damn barcode sticker on them! So i scroll up to see what shipping would be and notice he's in San Diego....and he's in the same zip code too! So this guy cant be more than 4-5 miles away. So i message him saying if he states a reasonable price he can avoid paying ebay or for shipping.
What's a good price to agree on for these? Are FRPP heads anything special over stock PI heads off a mustang just w/ more miles on em?

hahah i just now realized that to do a head swap you'd need to take off the exhaust manifold and put them back on which means you might as well take the whole engine out. No way will i have enough time for this or want to pay someone enough to do this Crap, this was going to be the next step for me, now im at a dead end. And S/C'ing an NPI is like blowing through a straw

u can keep your npi heads, put some pi cams in and a procharger or vortech and push 350 to the wheels with a solid tune, i say do that, and dont buy the pi heads if you dont have the time to play with it.

but a good price on pi heads with cams is 300 imo, and i wouldnt pay any more than that, cant really trust mileage on a car you have never seen before so there is no guarantee.

i dunno, too much damn money to push 350. i feel ima just keep saving and put a down payment on an 05/06 in a year or so and put 350 down w/ just full boltons and still have a rather new ride

Boy, I would love those FRPP heads. I missed out on a new set on local craigslist, while I was debating intrernally, they were sold. I'm not looking forward to a headswap myself, but mystang isn't a daily driver, so I can take my time and not have to feel like I have to rush it.

Yeah, mine is a DD too. And moving to SD really interrupted my plans cuz previously i had my own garage and 2X the tools i now have to work with.

But i did just realize something, If you unbolt the manifold from the mid-pipe and unbolt the heads from the block after all the steps leading to that, won't you be able to pull the head off with the manifold still bolted on?

Yes you can uninstall the heads with manifolds still on.

You can take out the heads withought pulling the engine. Just unbolt your manifolds from your mid-pipe and snake it out ive seen it done and its easy and a time saver on the Quest for Horsepower!

The FRPP heads will also require the Bullit-style intake since the stock NPI intake sucks. The FRPP heads have round, NPI-style intake ports.

So a PI intake wont work?
checked it out, this applies to FFRP head from the 90's. Current FFRP heads are the same as 01+'s

FRPP has PI heads as well as FRPP Performance 2V heads( SVO ). The FRPP PI heads are stock PI heads complete. The FRPP SVO are the heads similar to NPI heads. From the sounds of it, this EBay auction is for the FRPP PI head...

You can swap heads with the motor in the car, leave the exhaust manifold attached to the head when you pull them out.

If these heads truely are the SVO heads, you can put a PI intake on it, like those of us that have PI intakes on NPI heads. It would be the exact same thing. I used to have a set of the SVO heads, in fact it was them that I used when I was posting images of how to do a PI intake swap on to NPI heads...

The local guy wont return my phone calls. So it looks like either 2000 heads (Windsor) w/ cams installed and valve covers less than 50k miles for 200+ shipping. 2001 romeo heads + cams w/ like 30-40k miles for like 300+shipping or basically new redone heads from MMR a deal i'd be getting for $400 (possibly + tax and shipping cuz it's in LA)
Can i get an opinions on this, i like the 2000 heads, but they are windsor which could be a bitch.

Also i was thinking about 262ah's or VT stage 1's, but they are like $400-450 used since they cost what even stage III's do new

The link in my signature should help you out with any of your PI Head, Cam, Intake install questions.

You can remove and install your heads with the manifolds on There really is not 'snaking' to it, but you may want a couple people to lower them down gently.

If you can, I would suggest going with a Romeo set. It will be less stressful (less extra parts to get).

yeah, i really don't want the windsor heads. But im just trying to keep it cheap w/ all the extra parts im going to need + SCT tuner + dyno tune + either used ceramic shorties/or used stage 1 cams. The day i started looking for heads i didn't recognize this one set on ebay came with cams installed on head and washed already redone/looked new and i let it go for $203+85 shipping Now i cant find a half decent romeo set for close to that
