I have a 86 GT with a t-5. I swapped the short block out of a 88 Lincoln mark, like 5 years ago. Then I gave it to my dad for a b-day gift. before I gave it to him though I put a lot of money into the drive train. He has since put a lot of money into it and gave it back cause it just sits. The short block is stock and ready to be swapped again (eating a quart every two tanks of gas).
What I put in it at the time of the short block was:
Electric fan
Off road H with flowmasters
New stock clutch and new stock fly wheel.
Ford Racing alum drive shaft
& a Pro 5.0 shifter.
Dad added a lot more. Converted it to 87-93 GT with ground effects, hatch, & hood, with a new paint job done in his driveway.
It has been converted to maf
Smog delete
K & N in stock box
373 gears
95 mustang heads completely, moderately ported with 1.94 & 1.550 valves. New 1.6 roller rockers, and crane springs retainers and locks.
Not sure what cam it is but it has a pretty nice lope. when it idles right.
K so the car is driven very little with maybe 10k miles in the last 7 years. So its not a must to swap the short block yet and the tune. I need a intake, TB, maf, ignition, and fuel system. The car runs rich and has the normal "I need a tune attitude" warm blooded (hates being cold) wants to jerk around if its not burning threw the gears.
What size injectors, MAF, and TB should I get? I'm not sure what Maf the car has in it since I didn't change it so I dont know if it can just be re programed?
Do I have to know what intake I am getting before I decide on the Maf, TB, and injectors? I wont dyno tune till its done since I dont drive it much anyways.
If u guys cant tell I am not the best at motors (not a computer guy). I also have a 3rd gen slowmaro that I have been putting more time in then id like. Time to show the Stang some love. Handling will be last since I dont get stupid in it. I dont race it I would just like to have the bite with the bark. Thanks for reading guys and thanks for any help. I think I can figure out the ignition was thinking about a 6al and hi temp coil. Anything else?
