That BBK one looks sweet. I agree, I'd like to see the numbers. I really like how the runners are open to the air, I wonder if it helps keep IAC temp down. . .hmm. I think someone out there needs to rethink our upper plenum alltogether. Honestly, I would like to see something that closely resembles a Viper's plenums with dual TB's.
 
It looks like a staggered port design which IMO is a great design for low end torque, not top end power. Cylinders 5 and 8 look like they may get starved. BBK isn't producing this to take the market by storm using new technology, trust me. What they are doing is offering these at extremely low prices. That is their marketing strategy - cheap manifolds providing a gain over the restricted stock unit. I've heard prices are starting all over. I've heard every price from $349 to $499. Hopefully, this may force Edelbrock, TFS and possibly Holley to bring their prices down to compete.

Your probably thinking, who the hell would buy something if it isn't proven? Remember, we aren't the only people who drive Mustangs. There are millions of young kids who don't have the first clue about what they are doing and see this. They think: I get new fuel rails and a new manifold all for the cost (or cheaper) than a Performer manifold. More fuel, and more air gives them the most possible horsepower. They're in...:rolleyes:. BBK just got one more customer.

I would love to see one up close.

Exactly what I have been thinking for a while. Why not a front fed one or at least a dual feed from the sides (didn't they do this on the FR500 manifold? Not the Ford Racing production one, but the one on the actual car).
 
Hey RUDE where did you find those pics? I was just going to say that it reminded me of an old BXR. Is that your car? As for an intake like the Viper wasn't the Roush intake a twin throttle body set up? I can't remember. I do remember once in an old Fabulous Mustangs mag in the late 80's (87-88-89)Trick Flow advertising an intake for 302's with a twin throttle body set up. It looked pretty cool, but I have never seen another pic of it and obviously Trick Flow does not make it anymore. I belive at the time Trick Flow was either a fairly new company or were new to producing Ford products. Anyways I love the looks of exotic intakes and if that BBK Unit puts up some numbers I would purchase it, hell even if it comes short of a good Edelbrock intake by 1-2hp I would by it because of the looks. and to be different.

The difference between the roush and this thing is that the roush has the connecting plenum at the front instead of the middle, and the throttle body enters in the center instead of the side.

The one area of the roush that concerns me is the way the throttle body mounts. As soon as the air flows through the throttle body, it has to make a 90 degree turn either left or right to get to the cylinders. All of the other bends look pretty gentle.

On the other hand, the Roush is almost 100% symetrical left to right, so I think all of the cylinders will get a pretty equal ammount of air, and the area behind the throttle body is formed to split the air instead of run straight in to a wall.

The BBK is compleetly asymetrical and I have no idea what the inside looks like. If the BBK was available when I bought my roush, I would not have considered it without some Dyno numbers and better (internal) photo's first.

I doubt I'll ever raise my hood and have someone say "Why did you get a Roush? You should have got a BBK"
 
GRRRR i will never buy a BBK intake Just because they flash their name wayy too much for me...EVEYRHTING they friggin make has to have bbk on it ike 5 times. They got it 3 times on that intake, so u can read it from front, right, left, hanging upside down, etc etc. It just kills it IMO, otherwise it would be nice. And not to mention B-B-K sounds cheesy to me
