Alright so here is how my week/weekend went. Got the car ready for FFW in New Hampshire. Took it to the dyno on Thursday to make sure it is running where it should be. Car dynoed terrible, putting down...

258/293

Needless to say those numbers, coupled with the new 18s, bigger brakes, lowered suspension, I figured I was doomed. Got to the track Early Saturday morning, and got in the True Street class. Went on the 30 mile cruise and was ready to get to business. It has been 3 years or so since I took this car down the track so I expected the worst.

1st pass: Head around the water box, and back up in front of it. Short little 3-4 second burnout, and ride it out till the tires show a little heat. Get the car staged and decide to try 2000-2200 RPM. Car comes out spinning, and was not catching up. I pedaled it back and was able to get it back down. 3 good powershifts later and I was not too disappointed.
60': 2.173
1/4: 13.273
mph: 106.34

2nd pass: Same prep technique, I tried a softer launch. Car came out better and by mid 1st my foot was down and never came back up. Lights hit and things looked better.
60': 2.024
1/4: 13.147
mph: 105.32

3rd pass: Last pass of the day. Same prep technique, launch off idle and roll into the throttle hard. Car came out good, clean powershifts, and was rewarded.
60': 1.948
1/4: 13.056
mph: 105.58

With those three numbers I also nabbed the low 13 average and $100 from FFW. Now time for day two!

1st pass: Weather looked a little better, I had some sleep this time around the night before, and was bit by the racing bug. Same prep technique and launch off idle again. Car ran hard.
60': 1.958
1/4: 12.982
mph: 106.37

2nd pass: First round of elims, vs a GT500 with a KB2.8 and a shot. He was dialed 10.4 to my 12.92 dial. Launch and spin. Thought the run was a bust, the GT500 never came around so I lifted (funny the mph doesn't show it which makes me wonder if I lifted late).
60': 2.033
1/4: 13.091
mph: 106.24

3rd pas: Last pass as well. Lined next to a 15.00 Maverick who wasn't cutting steller lights. I should have just played it easy but went for the tree and went red. Knowing this I decided to just run it out hard and see what it does. Grabbed a new best.
60': 1.918
1/4: 12.953
mph: 106.07

So all in all it was a GREAT weekend. Brothers 86 GT went 12.44 @ 108 with an AMAZING 1.633 60' (consistent 1.63-1.64s on a street daily driven car) and the 06 GT with just a pair of Flowmasters went 13.78 @ 102 with a crappy launch. I am happy I decided to go, and glad the car should be solid high high 12s even on the 18s! Pics and videos might be coming soon as well!

Stayed and watched my friend Erik win the brackets, left around 5-5:30. Got some food and pulled in the driveway about 9:20. All in all a great weekend, and nice talking with you again. I am sure I will see you at the next MU show!

Not sure if I'm gonna go actually. Haven't been to one in about 2 years now.

I saw Eric around 8:30 Sunday morning and he was nearly out of contention because of the PS dilemma. Then I get home and hear he won!

Yeah we have NO idea why the cap was gone, or even where it went. The new one stayed on though, and he won it which is great. Nice to go home with a big trophy and some extra cash to pay for the weekend. Hopefully they get a nice pic of him for the mag!

285/35/18 Falken FK452... Hard compound low profile street tire. Didn't touch the air pressure either. I was happy going 1.91, 1.94, and 1.95 my first times out on these tires (only my second time ever on a radial at the track). I will be going for 1.8s on them Either Wed, or Sunday... Or both.

you know how to drive that's for sure... I would be in the 14's with your car :( But that's a good setup you got, with stock heads... lots of people have trouble getting in the 12's with aluminum heads (in my town anyway)...

I think I have a vid of your first run on sunday 25th, The car looked great, I saw it right before you got in the staging lines and snapped a couple pics, I was gonna chat for a min but you were on the phone. Nice runs too, congrats on the 12 sec passes.

GT40 valves in the heads, rockers, stock cam, Cobra U/L, 65TB, 75 MAF, CAI, pulleys, LTs, X pipe, dumped spintechs, 3.73s, lowering springs and 18" Falkens FK452s.

Car only made 258/293 on the dyno too!

  that makes me excited because you have almost the EXACT same setup as i do, aside from the gt40 valves! can't wait to get my car dynoed and run it at the track! :nice:

nisero you have a video, thats what I have been dying to see, if there were any. We had like 10+ people there noone had video cameras. If you want to send the pics or post them here feel free...

Boss, I thought I would have to relearn how to drive it after not racing for over 2 years, but needless to say it all came back. Car was easy to drive for some reason. Came out soft, and hit every gear hard and it responded well. The 60' makes me happier than the mph and times.

Cenok, your combo looks stout. Should run hard. Get it on the dyno and the numbers will give you an idea of shift RPM and what it can do!

Bad news about the vid,I dont know if the sun was in the way or what, but the videos I took all turned out like garbage. I cant even tell which clip had your car in it. Sorry.

Heres the couple pics though:
