Just bought new G-force T/A drag radial 275/40-17's. They hook a lot better then my old goodyears on the street, wow!!
Ready to go to track this weekend, would like to know what tire pressure to lower them down to, and how long to heat them up?? Quick clean off, burnout for couple seconds??? Suggestions please

thanks
eric

I run my MT drag radials at about 18 psi at the track and I usually back them into the water but don't spin them and then do a couple of second burn out at least until I get some smoke then race.

Drag radials, per all manufacturer's, need to be HOT, REAL hot, to get to hook well. DR's should be heated up for atleast 5-10 seconds... Let them smoke! I did about a 7 second burn out with line lock in 2nd gear in my 83 vert, ran 13 psi, and ran constant 1.6 60 foot. :nice:

Yeah My trakloc is a little iffy.

If I just mash the gas I get a 1 wheel peel, but If I stand on the brake both spin...

Im thinking ill set the air pressure to ~20-22psi

I am interested to see what you run.....we have simular mods...but you are lighter than me.

Dont get discouraged if you run 10's in the 1/8.......getting your car to hook up at the track is totaly differnt than on the street.
Good luck dude

made 3 runs tonight.

Car ran well.

1st run: Short Burnout, Launch at 2500rpm
Times RT:1.1s/60':1.90/8th:9.12 @ 76mph

2nd run: Short Burnout, Launch at 3000rpm
Times RT: 1.04/60':2.01/8th:9.04 @ 77mph

First 2 runs it bogged really bad.

3rd run: Longer Smokey Burnout, Launch at 4000rpm.
BANG!!! Busted the drivers side axle... :notnice:
